While banned from The Last Word for his, well... let's call them child support issues, Rep. Joe Walsh continues to make the rounds on other networks. Today it was a trip to FOX News to talk to the always insightful Neil Cavuto. Rep. Walsh was answering questions about the above exchange he had with constituents during a recent "Cup of Joe with Joe" meeting that the Tea Party Republican says happens "every weekend" in his district.
While fielding questions about Wall Street regulation, Rep. Walsh gets extremely agitated, telling the group assembled:
"What created this mess was your government, which demanded for years that everybody be in a home… Don’t blame the banks. Don’t blame the marketplace for the mess we’re in right now. I am tired of hearing this crap! This pisses me off. Too many people don’t listen. Do you want more Dodd/Frank? Is that what you want?! I need more coffee!"
The fireworks really start around 2:25 into the clip. And what did Rep. Walsh say was to blame for his outburst? Too much coffee and not enough food. Here's a portion of his exchange just a few minutes ago on FOX News.
Rep. Walsh: "I do these things every weekend... and invite anybody in my district to join me. I made the mistake of doing this meeting on a very empty stomach and too much coffee... So many of us have this mentality... that the private sector has caused this mess we're in and I just see everybody creeping back to wanting more regulation and that just set me off. But I hadn't eaten anything that morning."
FOX News question: "Did you have any coffee before this?"
Rep. Walsh: Yes, I downed a few quick cups which was probably a mistake. Did I go over the line on Sunday? Yes. But I think people (enjoy that) a Congressman is so accessible... "
FOX News question: "I think the world of you Congressman, but maybe you should switch to Prozac. And maybe eat something and switch to decaf next time?"
Rep. Walsh: (Laughter)
My favorite part of that exchange? Rep. Walsh says this was "probably a mistake." When FOX News is telling you to calm down, you probably don't need to say "probably."

I admire his 'spunk'. Too bad he won't listen with the same fervor.
joe needs to take a downer, or something a little less stimulating like extra money from the financial sectors. To defend any of those sob's, is disgusting. I can see why Lawrence does not refer to the guy in any way as long as he is a dead beat dad.
Agreed, except for the "prescription". Joe needs to take a HIKE!
So alcoholic beverages have caffeine?
LOL
It scares me that a man with that much power has no patience for or understanding of view points different than his own.
Yep, men like Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Lawrence O'Donnell, and Rachel Maddow scare me too!
Dug: Insightfulness can be a bit scary. Walsh does not know that Dodd/Frank did not create one loan. Who created the loans? In case you can not figure that out, it was the BANKS! First and last the issue for the economy is the BANKS and, of course, puny old wall street.
bump
A question. At one point he was telling someone to leave. Does he own that restaurant or what was his basis to think he could order others out?
He goes on a lot about Dodd/Frank, but that law, even after a little over a year, has yet to be really implemented. Do you suppose Walsh knows that, or is this like his child support payments, a fact to simply be ignored?
His problem wasn't too much coffee. His problem was he ran into a couple of people who knew what they were talking about, and he couldn't handle being confronted with facts by those he couldn't intimidate. His constituents must be so proud of him! (/so)
Know it all Joe Walsh bullying and telling people to shut up/leave while controlling the conversation in a my way or the highway approach is the type of neurosis that got him elected by an even more neurotic constituency! Do away with the Post Office? Whose going to service the Bronx/the sticks/Appalachia and all the little towns all over America? The Representative's hot, under the collar rhetoric, is what needs to be voted out so that the people of his district could take back control from this dictator style of craftsman! As long as he pollutes the radio/T.V./conversations by not allowing anybody to get a word in he is controlling and fouling up his districts ability to see clearly what liberties they stand to lose and what government benefits they stand to gain! QUICO!
Joe Walsh just became political road kill.
Why the hell they don't have a Recall in his district to get this ASS the hell out of Washington ??? How did this Idiot ever get elected ??? Kick his Ass out.
Walsh should probably learn something about how the international bond market works and the exact nature of the CDOs his big bank donors were selling - no government action forced them to shovel utter rubbish into those tranched derivatives, and no government action forced the rating agencies into slapping utterly fraudulent ratings on them.
No, that would take too long, and be way above Walsh's intellectual level. He should probably pay his damn child support and disappear into richly deserved oblivion.
If ANY of my Congressman treated me that way, he'll get "too much coffee alright". Right in his face with a big "f--k YOU" before I walk out the door!!!!! Remember it is MY taxes that pay YOUR salary, YOUR benefits and YOUR health insurance jerk!!! I hope people vote ol' deadbeat loose cannon Joe out on his butt in 2012!!
