"WE ARE THE NINETY-NINE PERCENT"
"ALL DAY, ALL WEEK, OCCUPY WALL STREET"
I keep wondering what would happen if there was no taxes from millions of Americans in addition to those that don't have a job to pay taxes? Who would pay for the billions to Pakistan, to the military, to the IRS, etc and of course, to those leaches in Congress? How would that work? IRS has owed me over $600 for months and quoting their letter, asked what happened to my money. Response was "we are holding it. Thus goes the Government today. Down the drain. So why not figure out how to give them a taste of the crisis they have made for us.
This is a country that has everything to be one of the richest in the region,
but today it is one of the poorest. It has high levels of insecurity and a
polarised society [that is] full of hatred. This has been promoted by OBAMA, a
man who is taking us to a fascist system similar to Cuba, where someone that
thinks differently is prosecuted."
THAT'S OBAMA for your information and your likes here including fat eddie
The ugly rants I am reading here obviously never were forced into a war, Vietnam, without believing in it by our mighty politicians. Until, there was protesters in the streets, 55,000 men and women died in yet another illegal political war.
You people who hate protesters owe them your freedom to be or not be in a military.
When police officers enjoy using force against NON violent protesters, that is wrong, next time your rights could be those that are violated.
Having served in Nam, I remember the boo's when we returned.
The police, if not held accountable, might cause the next "protest" to be not so peaceful.
Michael Moore, Lawrence O'Donnel, Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow, Ed, are the only voices out there for the people. Once they have been quieted you will have Faux News to tell you what you need to think. Is that really what you want ?
Yes. Thanks for asking.
Oh HELL NO!!!!
can't wait...be sure to throw in Chris Matthews and Reverand Al Sharpton.
To answer that question it is rising as he is chasing the Anti American corporate OWNED 9-11 ENABLERS known as republicans, the guys the rest of AMERICA calls TRAITORS.
Sure hope that answers your question you Brain dead Hater of America.
Question , can if the people push and push HARD against the Anti American corporate OWNED republicans, can he CLOSE ALL the BANKS until the REGULATORS can get in their and clear the BOOKS and PROSECUTE ALL the Economic TERRORIST of WALL STR and the Financial Institutions.
I as a AMERICA DO NOT trust the Anti American corporate OWNED republican, I do knows a FACT they ALLOWED America to be ATTACKED, they STOPPED any and ALL Investigations into why and How it happened. Yet almost every Anti American corporation who has had a product involved in the 9-11 ATTACK as received lots of NO BID unconditional CONTRACTS,
There is been NO out cry from the ANTI AMERICAN corporate OWNED republican other then to protect the ANTI AMERICAN interests of the FAILED corporations.
The TERRORIST known as Anti American corporate OWNED republicans need to have THEIR PATRIOTISM challenged, these are TERRORIST, ECONOMIC TERRORIST, they CAN NOT be TRUSTED.
Shut up you idiot
Let me say that I agree with the protest but Moore needs to stay away. This growing movement will be easily discredited if he gets involved. This is what happened to the so-called Tea Party and it will happen again.
Stay away Michael Moore!
Totally agree. I respect MM, but he's way too quick to jump on the crisis du jour. As are other celebrities. Funny how he (and others including MSNBC) managed to ignore this until it turned with the cops.
michael moore has not ignored this. he talks about this frequently and has done so since the collapse. how do you see him as "quick" to jump on a crisis, when this has been his main point since the collapse of the economy?
the protesters just gave him another opportunity to address it in a more meaningful way.
What this fat pig Moore doing there. Keep this dick out, But Lawrence has run out of guest. Same thing with Van Jones I mean why invite a crock like him WHAT AMERICAN DREAM CAN HE TALK ABOUT. We should call it THE COMMUNIST DREAM
I saw a few minutes of Laurence's show last night and had to point out some facts he got wrong. The tax rates are higher for the "rich",you can look this up yourself in any IRS rate table. And again he was comparing two different taxes,...cap gains and the fed income are two completely different things, and I'm sure Lawrence must know this, but misleads easily led viewers. Even the IRS publicly debunked this nonsense.
As for the Bush tax cuts, Obama signed them too. It seems to change back and forth from the Bush tax cuts to Obama tax cuts, depending on the argument.
As MM pointed out, Obama is in bed with these people that MM is protesting on Wall st, Lawrence shifted right off that topic.
You can blame Bush and hump Obama's leg all you want, but the only difference between the two is that things were better under Bush, and continually worsening now under Obama.
Don't worry Fubarak, no matter how much sence you make, they will never listen.
Amen well said Fubarak
What things and for whom? Bush tanked this country.
fubarak,
the tax rates "might" be higher for the rich, but you have conveniently left out the loop holes that allow them to deduct everything.
as for the bush tax cuts, he signed those twice. the tax cuts in 2001 and then again in may of 2003, shortly after we began invading iraq (march of 2003). the cuts that bush signed into law in 2001 and 2003, together those are known as "the bush tax cuts". who invades a country, and then lowers taxes for the rich? never in our country have we gone to war without sacrifice from everyone, and not just our servicemen and women. 2 unpaid for wars (one of them illegal), a prescription drug program, no child left behind, all of it unpaid for. yes, bush tanked this economy.
as far as President Obama extending the bush tax cuts, he did that to get unemployment benefits extended for the unemployed in america.
the republicans also agreed to many things that they didn't like or want (unemployment benefits extended) AS LONG AS THEY GOT THEIR TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH.
President Obama made a deal to help the unemployed, which the republicans did not want to do.
bush tanked this economy. i am sure you wish you could forget about that.
Sorry fubar , the tax table is one thing the post taxable amount is another the well to do are sucking the life out of them their blood and gold . They were promised the American dream if they did the right things . Well , at least a shot at it and they are being screwed ! I support the young people and I beleive they will fight for a chance to have at least some of the things I have ,and I am middle class I am willing to pay a little more If the rich would pay what they owe . So young people have a fair chance .
Fubarak, not even worth a discussion. You just plain don't know what you're talking about. A few minutes of the show? Well, that proves a lot - and says a lot.
I was a major fan of MM until he seemed to have gone of the rails a bit the last few years. During the Troy Davis travesty of justice, he wanted the President to march into GA with the National Guard!? Seriously. As if he has that authority. Why wasn't MM down there himself with his infamous bull horn?
Now he's jumping on the Wall Street thing after the fact. He could do us all a favor and stay out of it. Never said a word about it before the last couple of days. He was on Bill Maher last week - the crickets were out in full force.
I think there should be a segment on all these MSNBC shows where an everyday liberal should be featured. It seems that most of the guests (not quite as many on LO's show, but enough) are Howard Fineman and the rest of "the professional left." Fineman hasn't gotten over Hillary not running and somehow going to work for The Arianna has obviously affected his critical thinking skills.
Believe me, there are plenty of people out there that are the real deal. Not just some paid talking heads.
What has your elected official done about jobs today? How about you ask them BY EVERY MEANS POSSIBLE! That includes contacting congressional leadership EVERY SINGLE DAY UNTIL THEY DO! Speaker Bohener screamed about, "Put something on the table?" The President has done EXACTLY that! Even if you don't support the President's Job Act, you still should ask...what has your elected official done about jobs today? How about you ask him or her!
when asked "what are our demands?" we MUST REPLY: THOSE WE FREELY ELECT TO PUPLIC OFFICE ACT IN ACCORDANCE TO THE LAWS GRANTED TO US AS CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..................and that "we the people" will rise up a if you fail to live up to those responsibilities.............. any questions?????/
TEAMSTERDAN, I am going to trust the young ones to make educated wise decisions you must be an old soul like myself . Sometimes we can assist but it is their future . I think they are of good heart and true in spirit . They need to knock the cobbwebs out of this country s complacency
I have been following these Wall Street protests from day 1 and watching the interviews with protesters on livestream. The people interviewed range from a grassroots tea party member to extreme liberal and they all have had a common complaint. That is the power with big money interests( including unions) hold over government. The wealthy are continually molding the government to only benefit themselves and screwing everyone else in the process.
The income gap is largest it has been in many many decades and the dispersion of wealth in this country is growing to fewer and fewer people. If the idea of Reaganomics is correct and giving the wealthy more wealth created more jobs, we would have so many we couldn't fill them all. And the fact of the matter are government jobs are still jobs, and cheering the layoff of 1000's of people is just plain wrong (this notion has been cheered at countless GOP events). If the private sector does not create jobs for whatever reason, then the government must step in and do it for them, even if it is at a loss and that will get the ball rolling again. Open your history books to the New Deal and you'll see what I am talking about.
While I personally have my own issues with MM, I do feel he has done a good thing by getting further coverage of this protest. I have heard from people in the FB group that he refused to do the interview for it unless it was live on location.
I have to highlight that I did say grassroots tea party member, because as far as I am concerned the people in congress and the representation which is currently in the media for them do not reflect what I understood to be the basis of the initial group and the people who I have talked to who organize local events. The tea party movement has been hijacked by social radicals and corporate interests which talk out of both sides of their mouths and they are no different than the typical republicrat. Just look at the largest contributor to the current Tea party... it is the Koch Brothers, which have seen there net worth skyrocket since Bush. You can not honestly believe that they have the interest of the people at heart.
Class warfare indeed. "Citigroup announced earlier this month that it would charge customers a $10 monthly fee if their account had a balance below $1,500." Chase has the same policy and now BOA will charge you for using your debit card unless you have a premium account. The banks want to increase their revenue by only charging the poor. That say's something doesn't it? Isn't this a penalty against the poorer among us?
Daniel Rojo
gee you think all the new fees have something to do with all the new socialist bank regs????
ya gov't at it's best. you people have know clue.
Name ONE "socialist" regulation. You also seem to forget NONE have been impamented because the will not even hold hearings on the Sec. of commerce. The tpers are holding the people and this country hostage.
You also might want to STUDY the Constitution. It is IMPOSSIBLE to have socialist policies under it without amendments.
Moores big a$$ alone would occupy wall street. moore is a freaking capitalistic hypocrite. he makes money off his junk movies because the drone lossers go to see them.
Really, both of these men have go TO GO AWAY!!! If the protesters don't like the way they're being treated......then go home! I love the way O'Donnell and idiot Moore always try to stir up more problems instead of supporting the men and women who keep us safe everyday.
It doesn't really surprise me that O'Donnell and Fat Boy Moore are always trying to stir up trouble.
With the few comments on this thread you can see that Larry's show is in the tank. He has no viewership. LOL...Way to go Larry!!!
The BUSH ADMINISTRATION in the name of Fighting Terrorism has done more damage to the United States & American Quality of Life than all terrorists or all Museum Nations Could ever have dreamed of!
Interesting poll today, more people find the bush administration caused this recession than our present administration. Sounds like the crazies aren't in charge yet.
You repub lovers, where are the jobs Boehner, Cantor promised you ? They are too busy filling their pockets from the lobbists to care about your job. How can you be so blind ?
I know this reply is to old news . But I had to make this comment , I have seen this young man lying in the street sleeping and I went back in time . You are not the "lost generation" as the rich talking heads claim. I am proud of you , I support you , and when push comes to shove I have your back Take Your Country Back !!!
greg kurt do you believe in anything ? Do you read ? Do you have morals that compel you to care one iota about anyone else ? Or do you just like seeing your inane comments that go nowhere in print ? When is the last time you helped someone ?
We the people, for the people. I wish I was in New York. Stand tall my Brothers and Sisters. Country fist.....let's do this....
