What's not to love about a flash mob? They're fun. They're surprising. They just put you in a good mood.
Couple that fun and surprising mood boost with a protest against Rep. Michele Bachmann's tendency to take anti-gay stances, and you've got a viral video in the making. Friday the folks at California's Courage Campaign used Bachmann's planned speech at a convention for California's Republican Party in Los Angeles to make their voices heard. Plus, plenty of people (including our fabulous Last Word digital producer) will love the group's choice of song.

Let me think what I was doing on Friday the 16th??? Oh yea, I remember, I was at work trying to make a buck and provide for my family. No wonder California's economy is in the tubes; all those able bodied liberals with nothing better to do. I am sure they are all RICH Libs, because you have to be rich in order to waste a day dancing to Madonna. So if the writer thinks this is AWESOME then obviously he is part of the reason our economy sucks!

Perhaps you'd prefer the angry mob, chanting slogans and yelling at an opposing candidate? Or that no-one engage in any sort of political discourse that is counter to Bachmann?
This is a very effective form of protest against a candidate, in that it gets the point across, and does not alienate the audience with anger. Perhaps that's what vexes you?
Perhaps Bachmann should organize a flash mob of her own, doing the Texas One Step forward, Two Step back!

If you have a cause that you truly believe in, you manage the day for that cause. You don't have anything that you believe in enough to take some time for, kurt? That's really too bad if you don't.
Ok, the video is 4 minutes long. Perhaps 5 - 10 minutes to get there and back to work, so 10 -20 minutes RT. I'm sure everyone is allowed at least a 30 minute lunch... so it is quite possible everyone in the video was working that day and just shifted around their schedule to have their lunch be at that time.
Eat on the run or *gasp* they have a 1 hour lunch and boy would they have time to actually eat and participate in this. OR even travel farther and make it there and back within their lunch break....
Assuming... well, you know how they saying goes. And I didn't even get into possibly taking a couple hours of vacation time... or the bad option of sick time... or just unpaid time for the day or part of the day... So many options working people have to still work and take part in supporting societal causes.

Kurt; maybe they are just better at managing their time than you? It is not everyone's fault that you put yourself in your situation working a crap job with horrible hours WITH a family to deal with. Some people keep it in their pants.

it sounds to me like you are the one who is angry. angry at liberals for making the choice to stand behind all people, and give them equal rights under the law as the constitution says we must do.
clearly you feel like other right wing extremists; that being gay is a moral issue, and a sin in the eyes of your "right wing god". you are angry at everyone who doesn't see the world in your narrow view and judgemental way.

I don't for a moment believe that Kurt supports gay causes.
His mere suggestion that liberals should be working instead of speaking their piece in a creative effective way implies he is probably stuck in some "right to work" state where where such freedoms are not afforded.
No worker protections, vacations, health care,or unions that provide a fair wage for a honest day's work. It's the "right to work" states that have kept wages flat flat 30 years.
It's wing nuts that can't stand such freedoms of expression. Gee Kurt I would not want to be one of your kids and have to tell their father some day I am Gay.

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I wish I could have been there. We need to pray the hate away. We need to speak out to get rid of the misconceptions and lies about being gay. It's wrong how Michelle Bachmann acts. It's wrong how they are forcing gays to go straight. It's wrong how they are running down the self esteem of the gay people who go to this therapy. What needs to be done is that these people need to see a real psychologist not a phoney one so they can learn to accept who they are. No exgay program has ever worked, because you cannot change who God made you to be. In my culture we call it Two-spirit, and we respect people who born with both male and female attributes. I don't consider myself gay I consider myself to be Two-Spirit. I believe I and many people in the world who was created with 2 spirits has a special purpose and God loves us who he created us to be. So take pride in your uniqueness. Take pride in your individuality. You are different for a reason, and there is nothing wrong with that. God has a purpose and plan for you. He likes variety. People like this who celebrate that uniqueness warms my heart. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for taking a stand for people who are created different for a purpose. That purpose may only be love, but even that has a specail purpose. So thank you to all the people who did this.
