the tea party republican could have made room for the president which is historically done but they do not respect president obama and that is very evident to all americans. the president said a month ago that he would present his jobs proposal to congress and to the american public as soon as congress was back in session. Who cares about a bunch of presidential hopefuls who have nothing to do with our jobless situation right now. The repubicians are just going to denie his proposals out of hand anyway.
First off, a lot of the disrespect shown by the GOP toward President Obama IS because he's an African-Americian. Why else would there have been so much questioning about his birthplace. Anyone who ever bothered to read up on what exactly constitutes a "natural born" American citizen would instantly have known that the President's birth qualified. And then, there are the instances where President Obama has been called a liar to his face by members of Congress. I challlenge anyone who thinks this ISN"T racial to name a single President other than Obama where this has happen during the last 111 years! And, f I did my math correctly, there have been 15 white American Presidents since 1900. Whether or not you want to admit it, race in this country is a "wedge" issue that continues to simmer just below the surface because there are still many people living in this country who won't ever believe that America can or should be lead by anyone other than a white person. And because this "wedge" continues to divide the country, the GOP masterfully continues to exploit it to their advantage.
Once again, Republicans are showing that they should not be elected to make the decisions that effect the future of the Country. I hope every Democrat votes in the November 2012 election and votes straight Democrat.
when will these people learn that we elected Obama president not Boehner, when history is written they will remember Obama, not Boehner, not Bill O rilely, not Rush Limbaugh, not Sean Hannity. They might be remembered as the group who politics ahead of the needs of the american people.
We need a Real President to never speak in Congress again while Boehner and his hate america friends are in the way. These people who were sent to washington to make jobs have no real values to any America who's out of work unless the worker takes a free job for free trade. But that person who maybe luckly to get a job will pay 91% tax unless he owns the company or ships the job overseas.
This President has lost his way now his White Master's tell him when he can speak!
I am ashame of Boehner but again the GOP wins in cutting the man and America off
from making any real job these people all need to be replaced from the top to the bottom But even most America's have no understanding on how to do that.
When "Boner" and his toadies disrespect our Comander-in-chief, they disrespect every American who voted for him in 2008! I chose not to allow them to do that to me as an American. I place the blame for the ongoing fiscal mess precisely where it belongs...on a gaggle of inept, selfish, and greedy men and women who need to be sent home to watch how real professional politicians do their job. As for those of you who don't care for how this government is supposed to work. Go find an island somewhere and start your own!
It saddens me that there is such disrespect for the office of the President of the United States! When George W. was president it was considered "UNPATRIOTIC" "UN-AMERICAN" to speak against Bush and his policies! What happened to that! The Republicans have crossed the line!
Unfontunately, Rush's tolerance to his OxyContin is so high that there probably *is* no dose that would kill him (he was buying the largest size tablets by the cigarbox-full when he used to send his maid to cop them in the Denny's parking lot). Isn't it amazing how quickly everyone's forgotten that "Rush" is a dope fiend?
The President showed no class by picking the day and time he did, at least Clinton and Bush would have made sure the talk focused on policy... Is this leadership?
BO Stinks and Must Go!!! Obummer is by far the worst President in our history.
The Nation will Rise from Destruction in Nov 2012.
O'Reilly, Limbaugh, and Hannity are RIGHT on!
Did any of you ever mention lack of respect for Pres Bush ? I guees not ! Being black has nothing to do with it. The economy was tanking and all Pres Obama could think of was his Socialist health care agenda. His "on the job training" is killing us ! Let him speak, he has nothing to say ! Why so late on the plan anyway. What has Mr. Leader been waiting for ?
If anything, the President is becoming a living example for many African-Americans on the subject of being the first of your race to do something. The old saying used to be "if you're black you have to work twice as hard as your white counterpart on a jobe to prove your worth" and ironically we're seeing this played right before our eyes. Never has a President of the United States been shown the level of disrepect by his opposing party as a whole. NEVER. We're not talking about individuals who will say something but a whole party. I was no joke when it was said before he was even sworn in that their primary job was to make sure he was a one term President (honestly, when has such a thing ever been said about a President before in the past?)
The Elephant in the room about why this President is being disrespected so openly is only getting bigger and fatter because people are just afraid to address it because it makes people feel uncomfortable, but we're seeing the results of this uncomfortableness because it's allowing the opposing party to do more and more outragous things in opposition to him that ultimately is hurting ALL OF US.
Boehner is the puppet who is out front trying to destroy the Pres. All is carefuflly crafted in the backround. MY greatet issue is why are the GOP who signed Grover Norquist pledge regarding taxes and also took the Congressinal/Senate Oath still in the government. Why hasn't their pledge to Norquist caused their Oath to the country to be nulified and therefore they should be dismissed. Our tax $ is paying them while they hold they pledge to Grover and has shown NO attempt to improve the economy. They Are so focused on taking Obama down they are willing to ruin the country. Hope all realize the nGOP is a serious threat to the well being of the country if they get in they WH. They will decimate the country while the select few grow in power and $$$$$$$$$$$.
I think that President Obama worked this situation like a master. Think about it for a minute. First, he allows Boehner to do what you know he wants to do, which is disrepect the President of the United States yet again, and at the same time, he gets what he really wants, which is to come on right before football, which is going to be on a lot of tv sets at home. Had Obama come right out and said he was going to address congress before the game, I have no doubt that the right wing spin machine would have called him un-american, an opportunist or some such drivel, but now that it appears to be Boehner's idea, they can't say that.
It does say in the good book, to turn the other cheek, but Obama has already given them both cheeks....and it seems that every Republican is standing in line waiting for their turn to play slap the President. But, there is in everyone a point at which there are no more cheeks to turn to them, and one must deliver a few slaps of one's own.
