sick and tired of hearing about irene.
i am praying for the people in the path of the storm, however.
I have lived many years, and one thing I have learned is that there are people who are going to complain no matter what. Hurricane Irene was a very serious storm - some areas were hit very hard and others got a break. Instead of people complaining about it being too much hype, why don't they get down on their knees and thank God that they were spared from complete devastation. I think we all learned something from Hurricane Katrina; and that is, you should never underestimate. Al Roker and the rest of the team endangered themselves being out there in the severe weather, trying to keep us up to date as to what is happening. I often wonder why they do what they do when it looks so dangerous out there. I have 10 relatives in NY, and I was grateful for the reporting and the updates.
As for the complainers, these are the very people that you do not want to be around when there is a disaster. Who can predict what a storm is going to do. Mother Nature is the one in charge, but to do nothing to protect yourself from a storm that had the potential for being so horrific, is to be an idiot. There were states that suffered greatly, not to mention the loss of lives. My heart goes out to them.
