The word "booty" was not appropriate when referring to Ms. Rice, whatever your politics.
Sirs:For the life of me,im trying to understand the point of this particular "segment"of thurs show.You used the word "creepy"??????Help me out here.Are you trying to imply,that because Quaddafi may have,what appears to have been a "crush"or an "Infatuation"with Condoleezza Rice,that somehow this means something was wrong with him?The article you quoted from,in the washington post circa 2008,clearly indicates he had an admiration/or respect for her.He was even quoted as saying he "loved her".So what"s the big deal? Sounds like "insidious"hypocrisy" to me.Whatever you may think of Condoleeza Rice,there is nothing un-usual,about a Head of state"or for that matter,any "Man"who might have a "Desire"for a black african woman.Matter of fact,women of african descent are some of the most sought after/coveted women in the world.By the way,one of your "substitutes" for mr O"Donnell Ms Mellisa Hopewell Perry,is a African woman.And i might add a very attractive woman.I wonder what her opinion is of this "segment" of course some might say ms perry is better looking,than ms rice.But that"s not the point.The point is,that beauty is in the eye of the "Beholder"but they are both Black women,highly intelligent/credentialed.In closing i must say it is quite Baffling,even puzzling,why a supposed liberal show,would choose to "highlight"something like this,found in Quadaffi"s "lair"You have just done yourself a huge "Dis-service.
not all americans will be interested in this, but i certainly find it of interest, as i remember hearing of his attraction to her previously, years ago.
you seem to have applied a "racial" tone to your blog, wondering if chris's use of the word "creepy" may have referred to her "blackness", as you compare her to Ms. Harris-Perry. is that right?
i don't think his use of the word "creepy" has anything to do with condi, per say, as she is an intelligent, attractive, physically fit woman and he obviously admired her, as he did many other women perhaps; he had several wives.
i think this had more to do with qaddafi, and the contrast between him and condaleeza. finding HER pictures in the house of a madman should not reflect on condi at all as far as her mental and emotional stability, though some people may find that it does. it is not her "fault" that qaddafi found her a strong and attractive woman, i am sure many men, both insane and sane would find her to be so.
i do not agree with condi politically AT ALL, but are you making this about race when to me it is clearly just an attraction of a man for a woman that we have known about for years now, and just a point of interest that her pictures are found in his ransacked house?
perhaps that is not how you see it.

Condi "mushroom cloud" is damn "creepy" herself. Ignored counterterroism expert Richard Clarke's warnings about OBL and Al Qeada. So did Stephen Hadley. "Mushroom cloud" Rice went along with all the lying about WMD's in Iraq. She may be responsible for more innocent deaths than creepy Gaddafi.
War criminals see war criminals do. The US just allows their war criminals to write books, teach at universities , head presidential contenders foreign policy teams. Doulgas Feith and William Luti are heading Rick Perry's foreign policy team.
In Egypt the people have set the bar high. Demanding that Mubarak be held accountable. Nato taking Gaddafi down. Not so for US war criminals.
Chris Hayes you are doing a remarkable job. Don't know if it is you or the producers who are opening up some topics that MSNBC will generally not touch. Why the MSM barely ever whispers about Palestinian peaceful protest while following violent takeovers in Libya etc.

Prof Cole not sure why this did not make it up. I posted it earlier. Think it is relevant. Also posted over at Mondoweiss and it made it up and at Huff Po. Do you have a problem with this comment question?
Atlantic monthly’s/ New America Foundations Steve Clemons was on Rachel Maddows several eveinings ago he mentioned how Al Qeada is allegedly involved with the Libyan Rebels. This morning former US Ambassador Marc Ginsberg was on C Spans Washington Journal discussing LIbya. He mentioned the Libyan weapons that many are concerned about falling into Al Qeada’s hands. If it is true that Al Qeada is involved with the Libyan rebels are those weapons all ready in Al Qeada’s hands?
What do you know about this? Confusing

WHY WOULD PROF COLE REFUSE TO PUT A STATEMENT AND QUESTION LIKE THIS UP?
So Al Qaeda was not in Iraq before the invasion and then was in Iraq after. From what we know Al Qeada was not in Libya before the overthrow of Qaddafi. And now according to Atlantic Monthly’s Steve Clemons they may be in with the Libyan rebels. I have heard numerous reports that many of Qaddafi forces weapons are missing? Who is confiscating those weapons?
Just a guess here, but I doubt Condi ever batted her eyelashes at him crooning, "Oh, you big, strong man." Yeah, there's something creepy about a "mature" multiply-married man having a scrapbook full of photos of a woman who's shown no romantic interest in him. And this is no insult to Rice. On the contrary, what would a highly-accomplished intelligent woman see in a megalomaniacal murderous thug?

Stenman, you totally misunderstood, I think. Chris' use of the word "booty" refers to treasure; as in "Pirate's Booty." In fact, he used the phrase "treasure trove your standard petro-dictator booty; gold plated guns; stuffed animals; an entire scrapbook full of Condoleeza Rice photos". He did not in any way reference her butt.
The reference to her being black is from Gaddafi's own statement that "I admire her, and I'm proud of her, because she's a black woman of African orginin."
The two statements should not be combined to put words in Chris Hayes' mouth.

If you all were as intelligent about world affairs and politics as you all try to come across, rather unsuccessfully I might add, you would know that the only reason Ghadafi initially became an "enemy of the state" is because he had the audacity to undercut the IMF and other Western banking interests in Africa by putting billions of dollars into a no interest redevelopment fund for emerging African Nations. Subsequently Western powers lost billions of dollars, which initiated the "Bullseye" so to speak, on Gahdafi's head. So you can label him a madman all day long, but tell that to all of the African nations he was helping to succeed and develope their own economies and manufacturing base without relying on the West's high interest loans which basically amounted to economic slavery. As Leftists you all should understand this. But I am glad you are all celebrating you annoited one's victory in disposing of a "tyrant". I occasionaly browse the posts on this site for unknown reasons. I guess out of boredom. I can not stand the hatred Lawrence spews and I like to "keep an eye on his disciples". Then I see all of the posts that consistantly attack anything or anyone that happens to be Republican or conservative leaning. The reason it upsets me is because the majority of the posters don't have a clue, they are just "lock-step" with any left wing agenda or talking point of the day. I have Liberal friends, real freinds, that I actually spend time with and socialize with. We debate things, LISTEN to each other, and agree to disagree. But we still leave friends and learn things from each other through the lost art of listening. Something that never happens on this site. The reason I brought up the Ghadafi thing is because if Bush would have been behind the current ousting of Ghadafi the Left would be going crazy. But since it is a Democratic Presidency calling the shots they are cheering on the sidelines giddy with joy without having a clue of the history behind Libya and Ghadafi. Is he a saint, not by any means. Is he a terrorist, or does he support terrorism? History would say yes, most definetley. However, a true Leftist would understand the history and blame America as usual. But since O'Bama is President, they bury their heads.
