Screengrab of Geroge Pataki's presidential website
George Pataki may be more ready than ever to take the presidential plunge. The former New York governor has been flirting with the idea, and it seems committed to building a website for the occasion.
The Observer discovered a beta site, which was briefly published by accident. D'oh! It's been scrubbed from public view since the report. But, the screengrab exists. (A perfect reminder to us all that once something's online, it's in the Internet ether forever). It reads, "The Pataki Record," which includes topics like "budget," "K-12 education" and "national security" in a drop-down menu.
Pataki's spokesman told CapitalTonight.com, "Can't run a campaign without a website — the hosting company apparently made a mistake and has prematurely made it searchable. The site is still in development and will only be launched if the Governor decides to get in the race."
Pataki is scheduled to attend the Polk County Picnic in Iowa this Saturday, along with presidential hopefuls Rick Perry and Ron Paul.

Love all the subs but...we miss Lawrence.
And the list continues to lengthen. The hopefuls continue to hope, that one of them will be the one, to bring a fine president's term to a close. Never heard of Pataki. It sounds Indian or maybe who knows. But we will keep watching, no matter how long.
BTW, I miss Lawrence too. But I say enough of Libya. The POTUS did a fine job as did every one involved. His policy of leading his way a different way did a world of good. It is an example to follow. Of course Republicans would have gone all the way to violent confrontation, because some have stock in the Military Industrial Complex President Eisenhower warned us about. They make profit during wars. And during peaceful confrontations, their quarterly profit statements are not that fat. I consider defense just what is it, defense not offense. Why confront when you can win without a life being lost.
During the Iraqi war we have lost so many lives and then to have Bush make a joke about not finding WOMDs while our young men and women risk life and limb...
George Pataki? Give me a break! That's asking the cast of the 1980s Saturday Night Live at its lowest and least funny point to replace the cast of today. He was a mediocre Governor, at best. The republicans are so desperate to get someone white they'll go back to the last century, if he is still alive. Why don't give Dan Quayle a shout while in your time machine.
No issue with what you said re Petaki, just the 80s SNL cast. Eddie Murphy, Jim Belushi, Joe Piscopo, Billy Chrystal, Martin Short, Kevin Nealon, Jan Hooks, Ben Stiller, more....
Are you sure you want this comparison?
Almost any Republican, including a democratic challenger can beat Obama in 2012. The man should be an embarrasment to every American. He is not a leader; he is a spineless narcisist. He has spent 4 years doing nothing but caving in to the demands of those who crashed the economy in the first place and virtually destroyed America.
I will vote for Perry or Bachmann so they can finish the job of making America a third-world country and be done with.
The more the merrier infighting makes all GOP's to appear dangerous for the US.
