Following in the "corporations are people" vein, Willard M. Romney presented a business-friendly theme in a new web video released today. He's trying to own his previous comment, which sometimes poses a challenge for him, and run with it.
The clip, "Mitt on the Road: A Week in New Hampshire," shows the Republican hopeful meeting with workers and small business owners across the early primary state.
Soylent Green "Businesses are comprised of people," Romney clarifies in the folksy video. "I'm talking about repair shops, and gas stations, and beauty salons, and restaurants. I'm talking about Apple computer, and Facebook, and Microsoft."
He pushes back against criticism saying, "It's really astonishing to me that the Obama folks would try and argue that businesses aren't people. What do they think they are? Little men from Mars?"
The DNC had a field day with his original "corporations are people" comments at the Iowa State Fair. Dems made t-shirts out with his now famous line.
Unlike the competition, Romney has consistently kept his eyes on the prize of the White House, opting to focus his attacks on Obama and not fellow Republican candidates.

One might argue that Cults are people also..Jeffs, Jonestown, Waco..The Borg..One mind, one voice......
And to extrapolate from George Orwell, "Some businesses are more equal than others."
Corporations are people? So is the government. But I guess making that argument makes me a communist, right?
Why do collectivist arguments in defense of corporations somehow equal a defense individual liberty?
The explanations and excuses are only digging a deeper hole. Better that he should keep his mouth shut.
Some of those "people" mentioned by Romney are White Supremacist with deep pockets, like the Koch Brothers. Arizona bombed itself back into the stone age by outlawing dark skin to get huge White Supremacist campaign donations.
Has anyone considered what will happen to the U.S. economy if more white supremacist Republicans are elected in 2012?
Look at the following research from UCLA.
Did anyone else noticed that the Great Wall of Tiajuana caused a foreclosure boom and Great Recession in California?
There is no Great Wall of Texas. The Texas economy has the highest population of illegal aliens and their economy is BOOMING with no Great Wall of Juarez!
Rick Parry (with an 'a') is actually taking credit for something he opposes.
Immigrants are the hardest working segment of the economy. This becomes obvious after you watch a field full of illegal immigrants harvesting your food by hand in 110 degree weather from the comfort of your air conditioned car. No legal U.S. citizen will do that kind of work.
13 million illegal aliens spend somewhere around $200 billion every year. This produced about 2 $trillion$ of economic stimulus under Bush. US census numbers for illegal immigrants are known to be under-estimated by half. The effect is actually much larger than this.
The illegal alien population went from about 0.3% to about 4% of the population from 1980 to 2007 during the greatest economic expansion in the history of the US (probably closer to 10%).
The foreclosure boom of 2007 began when the Mexican economy improved significantly for the first time since the 1970s. This happened because of gigantic Chinese investments.
Unoccupied foreclosed dwellings skyrocketed in the U.S. when Mexicans began quietly returning to Mexico after China ended the Great Mexican Recession. This triggered the unemployment we are now experiencing in the U.S.
The U.S. unemployment spike started with real estate agents, bank employees, and construction contractors when the housing market collapsed after the occupants moved south.
Coincidence?
The volume of cash-flow drives the economy, and the following produces that flow.
* Labor
* Retail spending including exports (GDP)
* Taxes
Deportation reduces cash-flow in all three areas.
Q.E.D.: trying to improve unemployment using deportation is like shooting yourself in the foot.
The U.S. motto is "send us your tired, your poor, and your hungry".
How did deportation policies begin?
The same collapse happened in the 1920s. It cost $0.05 for legal residency until 1924, and millions of Mexican immigrants entered the country during the Mexican Revolution. This produced the "Roaring 20s".
William Randolph Hurst lost $billions$ invested in Mexico, and his newspapers were instrumental in criminalizing Mexican immigration, which was the trigger for the Great Depression. Low rainfall just made it worse after the money supply declined. This backlash happened after the friendship between Senator Hurst and the Mexican dictator was terminated by the Mexican revolution. Hurst's purchased thousands of square miles of Mexico at $0.20/acre, and this was nationalized after Pacho Villa won the war.
Stocks collapsed after the money supply declined from 1924 to 1929, which triggered that started the Great Depression. Same under Carter. Same under Bush Sr. The Great Depression began before rainfall decline contributed during the 1930s.
Hurst blamed the rainfall in the newspapers to avoid being blamed for causing the Great Depression.
GDP tanks every time the U.S. kicks out illegal immigrants.
The economy did not collapse when Reagan kicked out the Mexicans because of $trillions$ of $frivolous$ $defense$ spending that we no longer need.
So ... racist deportation policies are actually creating unemployment.
Congratulations on your crackhead award - I see how you earned it.
When is "the last word" going to have a podcast (like Rachel Maddow) so I can watch or listen to Lawrence on my ipod? Sometimes I can't catch him on msnbc and it would really make it easier to keep up with O'Donnell's takes on issues if you put the show in podcast form on itunes.
A viewer,

Does he really believe what escapes from his little spaced out brain I wonder did he do acid when he was growing up whereever he is really from. When conveient to jump on success he claims his home is Massachusetts which his residency here seemed to be a front for really living in New Hampshire Then he claims Michigan when the auto manufacturers bailout was a sucess after he claimed it would be a mistake He recently made one comment that baffled me he said he was Governor of Massachusetts and fixed the triple A rating when the President was elected and got a downgrade Is he dillusional ? Maybe this is his problem he doesnt know where he is or what year it is or maybe he is a little green man from Mars If Corporations are people they are greedy evil people
Lawrence
Ms Harris- Perry did a great job while you on vacation!
Growing up in the 50's and early 60's. What I remembered from those days.
Superman: Truth, Justice and the American Way..
Today we have Super PAC: untruths, lobbied justice and the Corporate way.
Obama being our Superman being weakened by the Kyptonite (sp) of Corporate Greed

I'm I the only one who thinks that the real goal of the current republican party is to shrink the size of the federal government by at LEAST 1/3 if not more. To get rid of such departments as the F.D.A., the E.P.A., O.S.H.A. The Department of Education and the Federal Reserve at the very least. No more help for the lowly worker without a Grad School education, or the Medicaid and Medicare programs, after all why should we help THOSE people they don't have money to give me? It's the worst I have ever seen it wanting to undo everything we have done since the 50's to help the average american.
The man is a bigger idiot than I thought. Business's employee people and are started by people. That does not make them people. Mitt, intelligent people would see that as self evident.
