While visiting Iowa, Two Republican presidential candidates took the opportunity to ridicule the newly formed debt super committee.
At last night's debate, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich declared it "about as dumb an idea as Washington" concocted in his entire "lifetime."
T-Paw called it "super stupid" at an event this morning. Pawlenty said, "we have a Congress and we have a president. Do your job."
Only former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman endorsed the set-up, standing out from his fellow contenders.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced her choices for the team yesterday, rounding out the remaining seats on the 12-person committee. She picked Congressmen Jim Clyburn, Xavier Becerra and Chris Van Hollen. They will join Reps. Jeb Hensarling, Dave Camp, Fred Upton and Sens. Jon Kyl, Rob Portman, Patrick Toomey, Patty Murray, Max Baucus and John Kerry.
As Lawrence mentioned, this super committee represents about 15 percent of the American people. That means nearly 85 percent of Americans will not be represented when it comes to deciding how to trim the deficit. There's only one woman on the panel.
They've got until Thanksgiving to figure out at least $1.5 trillion dollars in government savings.

I kept hearing 10 to 1 cuts to revenues. Did a dumb Democrat make a proposal like that. If they did they better head for the hills but looking back how many times they peed their pants and caved in to the Republicans I feat the answer to my question.

It is stupid. Nothing will become of it because it has been set up to fail by the GOP. This country will never balance the budget or pay our 14 trillion (now) debt by lowering taxes and cutting spending. There has to be revenues with that. Either close loopholes or get rid of subsidies or raise taxes. They keep saying they do not want our children and grandchildren to shoulder the debt so they will not vote to add anything to the debt, but they are leaving the debt to our children anyway by not paying it. Thanks GOP and the tea Party. You're the greatest.
Exactly, the debt is being left to their children, grand children and beyond due to their lack of responsibility! Their responsibility in creating the debt and continuing the debt! Shameful! Shameful!
