Fun with corn kernels at the Iowa State Fair on Thursday.
Ahead of the debate and straw poll, Iowa voters let their choice for the Republican nominee be known…with corn. Visitors to the Iowa State fair placed single kernels into jars representing their favorite GOP candidate. So far, Michele Bachmann and Willard M. Romney seem to be the corniest — zing!
(Forgive me. As a former resident of both Iowa and Illinois, I take pride in dorky jokes involving corn and/or soybeans).

Sadly unless the Democrats do not add another candidate into the race we will possibly end up with Romney,Bachmann or Rick Perry President Obama seems not to get he needs to get assertive and own up to some of this chaos blaming S&P when they clearly stated that Washington is disfunctional is gaining more attention from those who werent paying close attention And apparently he doesnt need to keep complaining about Congress because people know this and they probably will not be returning either There are serious things that need to be addressed like longterm unemployment discrimination us people are being trampled most of all we are no longer counted in the per centage of unemployed and now other people are getting preference for credit to hire grants and we have no money to live on and then give those lucky to have a job a bonus again on taxes is just another way of hurting the ones on the outside looking in We are I guess non existent any more and do not matter this is a bad way to feel everyday
To my rich and powerful republican friends, after watching your debate in Iowa these questions came to mind.
Why don’t you want to participate in the responsibilities of being an American?
Why won’t you help pay to bring prosperity and employment to America?
Why are you sending my kids off to war? My son just returned from Afghanistan last Friday.
As a veteran I believe we should have a draft again. Everyone should contribute to America in some way not just take from it. It will prevent the powerful and wealthy from sending our kids to war as their own will now be in the same danger. In some countries everyone has to serve their country such as Israel.
In Israel the ultra religious do not have to serve in the military and also can
con their way out of social service.
I just looking for the loophole in the Constitution to get back to Poltics, and leave the tevangelist, apostles, and whatever out of the picture. Frightening to think one of the 'crazies' could mandate church of their choice if elected.
Replace the corn with nuts--since that pretty well sums up the Republican party these days. When we were in the depression, the President focused on jobs; that's what congress needs to focus on now. We also need a law that prevents the governement from creating unfunded mandates. No child left behind (BUSH)--unfunded, medical presecription (BUSH)--unfunded, wars (BUSH)--unfunded.
And Speaker of the House John Boehner--What's his voting record?
Voted for No Child Left Behind Act - his "proudest achievement"
Voted for Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit
Voted for Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 ($700 billion bank bailout)
Mr. Boehner, it's time to pay your bills!
