The Sarah Palin “One Nation” publicity bus tour rolls into Iowa later in the week. While not running for president, she plans to join fellow Republicans who have descended upon The Hawkeye state for a visit to the Iowa State Fair (I’m sure actual candidates will love that).
Team Palin released a teaser trailer of sorts today on her travel plans, tossing out Midwestern imagery like Abe Lincoln, corn fields and combines. In an email to SarahPAC supporters and on her Facebook page, she confirmed it.
“We are very happy to jump back on the bus for another leg of our "One Nation Tour"! We accept with gratefulness an invitation to meet folks at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this week. The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation's heart, history, and founding principles," read the Palin note.
Many GOP presidential hopefuls are scheduled to take part in a formal debate on Thursday and Iowa's straw poll on Saturday. She's not in it to win it. Palin's just there for the deep fried offerings on sticks, or so she says.
“State fairs hold a special place in our nation's history and heritage, so my family is honored to highlight one of them on one stop along the One Nation Tour route America's historic Iowa State Fair! (I'm also excited to try some of that famous fried butter-on-a-stick, fried cheesecake-on-a-stick, fried twinkies, etc. I'll enjoy them in honor of those who'd rather make us just ‘eat our peas’!)”
Palin, the former governor of Alaska, also visited Iowa as the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008.

this does not surprise me at all. this will give her the much needed attention she seeks and will boost her number in the straw poll, possibly beating out michelle bachmann.
she isn't running. she could never handle a debate against President Obama, although it would be amusing to see her up against michelle bachmann.
all weekend long, and for weeks after, we are going to hear the inevitably stupid question, "will sarah run", especially on fox news, who will give her appearance in iowa much more merit than it deserves.
Corp Media pimps for Palen
I think her One Nation label for her tour route indicates something about her levels of dishonesty since she used to shill for the Secessionist ideal of her husband Todd's party.
Ps. If "Secessionist" is a dirty word this week, I'm surprised since Salon has been doing coverage referring to the Perry penchant. And that is "a publicly viewable discussion".
I recall very well, my brother telling me that was why he had to go back up there, back in 1979. He's a "revenuer". Except when he rides his motorcycle to Iowa which just flabberghasts me. The rest of the time, I know he hunts better than Sarah who merely competes with that little lady from Waterloo who competes with her to see just who can be the first Madame President of the U.S. It is a thankless task, becoming that.
I don't understand why the media continues to give her the attention she so desperately demands. Just ignore her and she will go away. She won't enter the race. She knows she doesn't have the brains for it, although it would be fun to see her in a debate....any debate.
I've been saying this very same thing for too long. If it doesn't stop, I'll be forced into thinking that the ones who are making her relevant are getting paid by Palin. Everyone knows she'd fall off the grid if we could just stop talking about her.
And...then we could really see the ugly side of Palin b/c she'd have a breakdown. Then we could all take about her stay in a rubber room....I can only wish ((-:
Agreed Palen is a fill in on slow news days Corp media has no shame - still promoting this phony negative media driven woman
I have never seen anyone so desperate for attention as Silly Sarah. I think it is past time to ignore this silly person. She is neither a politican or a potential politican, she is just a diva who has to have attention. The only postive apect here is that she will distract people from the real politicans.
Oh, no, don't get her wrong. She's a real politician as she demonstrated when governor. She has more political craft in the little finger of her right hand than most of the guys she has taken to the cleaners.
Republicans get dumber and more hokey. Eating deep fried butter is juvenile. Palin and fried butter vendors should grow up.
Who is paying for the bus tour? SarahPAC? Coming out of her pocket? The only coverage I want to see about Palin is further investigation of her financial practices. Something not right.
Why does the media give her so much play? She is not running and if she does she will not win. I have more faith in the american people than to elect someone who would be a total embarassment to the nation. Can you see Sarah and Todd hosting formal dinners? I remember when the Republican Party prided itself on being educated and rational. I even respecterd some of them. I can't imagine wanting ignorant people to head our nation. I am still proud to be an educated woman. Call me elitist!
"I remember when the Republican Party prided itself on being educated and rational. I even respecterd some of them."
Oh,dear, when was that? My father used to be a Rockefeller Republican who brought home the Chicago Tribune every Sunday. Somehow, he hadn't noticed that Herbert Hoover was unable to win his second term: against FDR. And look what the Manhattanite Rockefeller was into!
Lmsilver,
Pass the respecterd there my educaterd elisterd.
This woman may have something psychologically wrong with her that she needs this attention so badly. If ALL the media stopped covering her pathetic attention-grabbing stunts, we'd all be better off.
Crazy like a fox. Palin will never be President. Those who give money to her PAC are doing nothing more than supporting her future lecture fees, Fox News contracts and book deals. And they don't know it.
I'll come right out and say it, George Martin-3463999. Are you George Martin, who has been an actor notable in many movies; and, who used to live on Prospect avenue, Milwaukee, in that old Queen Anne style architecture on the corner while you were doing theatre in town? I was your neighbor across the street at the Pillsbury Manor until I left for New York; by the time that I got back to Wisconsin, they had torn the place down, my friends in the Art Department and the MAC had collected pieces of the Pillsbury to save in the decor collection of the Milw.Municipal Museum, and another sky-scraper with a Lake view had been added to Prospect.
Dianne, what are you talking about? Clear sign of a Palin supporter : incoherent rambling.
Alas, sorry, not me. Nor am I the Beatles' "genius" music producer or the Giants linebacker, just to name a couple who also have what I have found to be a very popular name.
Crazy people are very scary!
Rich, crazy people are even scarier!!
Scared people don't live, that's crazy.
Why does any news organization (except Fox, I understand they are dumb enough to do it) give any attention to Sarah Palin? If she got off the bus and nobody noticed, maybe she'd get back on it and go home. And take her daughter Bristol who conceived a child unknowingly, with her. She is somehow protected by the media; they give her the attention she wants, she is shielded from questions (when one finally gets through she calls it a "gotcha" question - uh, a President gets a lot of gotcha questions, a good candidate for President answers them. Sarah Palin is the eternal victim. Let's leave this poor misunderstood "victim" thing alone, so she can leave us alone.
She's "newsy" -how can you watch that video and not just want more !!!!!!!
and its been raining in Alaska so its time for Sarah to head south ! Lucky us !
Man that video is pure USDA 100% corn pone! it blue ribbon stuff i say, both Sarah Palin AND Rick Perry running? wow Their GOD must be crazy !!!
i wonder what "gotcha" question sarah will answering in iowa.
maybe we'll all get another amusing history lesson.
you would think she would learn to keep her mouth shut, but she never will.
Fried butter.... are Iowans really proud of this?
No way a woman as vain as Palin is going to really eat all these fried foods.
If she does, she'll be purging in the bus in fifteen minutes.
Sarah strives to be a role model for diabetes and heart disease -- not how to avoid them, but rather how to attain them.
