The scandal surrounding Rupert Murdoch’s media empire may spread across the pond. Today, CREW — Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington — called on U.S. lawmakers to “investigate whether journalists working for Rupert Murdoch’s News International (NI), owned by News Corp., have hacked into the voicemail of Americans.”
Fox News, The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal are Murdoch’s main stateside news operations.
In a press release, CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan said, “It is becoming increasingly clear this scandal was not perpetrated by a few rogue reporters, but was systematically orchestrated at the highest levels of News Corp.” She went on, “If Mr. Murdoch’s employees can be so brazen as to target the British prime minister, then it is not unreasonable to believe they also might hack into the voicemails of American politicians and citizens.”
Reports surfaced today former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown may have been the victim of hacking by two additional newspapers under News Corp. The company allegedly tried to access the leader’s bank account and his son's medical records. He joins the growing list of royals, celebrities, politicians, police officers and murder victims who may have been targeted.
No word yet on whether Congress will take up the issue.

I am glad to hear of the concern of CREW, and do believe that the Murdock empire should be investigated. I certainly dont believe that this has been happening only in England and Australia, and not in America.
This should be troubling enough that the citizenship of Murdoch and the process used to obtain it must also be reviewed. Could Australia be asked to retrieve this migration?
People like Murdoch may have extreme amounts of money and power . . . but TIME is on the side of those who are crushed and destroyed by men like him and like Faux News . . .

This is not enough to convict Murdoch in court, but might be sufficient to hang him in public opinion. If the only papers doing phone hacking were owned by Rupert Murdoch and none of the papers he did not own indulged in the practice, how do you explain the co-incidence other than Murdoch's ethics enabled the crimes.
We know from hundreds of other incidents he is an unprincipled slime ball. This is perfectly in keeping. I am so glad the filthy old coot is getting some come-uppance before he dies.
If the incidents of phone hacking unsuspecting person's VM is as prevalent as it seems, then what about at the Wall Street Journal? What types of "insider trading" , illegally obtained information, might have been gleaned from the voice mails of highly placed business people in mega corporations? How could Murdoch himself have benefited from this information by increasing his coffers?
If this does reach over the Atlantic, then an investigation into the WSJ seems logically to be the next step. Murdoch's greed and insatiable need for power know no bounds.

basically everything involving foreigners to own anything here in the USA has been a bad idea. simply put, immigrationto here by our forefathers was to get away from the Murdoch types. no matter what country we came from. people today are trying to immigrate here to get away from these types. I'm shaking my head how money has corrupted the soul of so many here in the good old USA.
Amnesia or else. Do You still remember Bush's Global Regime? These barbarians were not only building concentration camps all over the world, they also used the best technology to hack all they wanted. They were creating / modifying other governments ( politically and with cruise missile) including so called friends from Europe. All graduates/alumni from US Heretic's Foundation and other conservatively sick outlets were groomed to become world leaders and Bush's junta gestapo/soldiers. They became prime ministers ( Cameron - England ), Minister of Defense ( R. Sikorski- Poland) and the entire army of Bush's 4-th Reich. Their first priority was to have Murdoch Empire spreading hacked information supplied by the Bush's Whitestag and using Radio Active Terrorism in Limbaugh and Hannity style. Sikorski fought hard to have Fox News in Poland and Cameron kissed 's ass to become UK Prime Criminal.
If there is even one person who think Murdoch hacked anything, I can't help this poor creature. Why Murdoch had to hack anything if he could have all info. delivered straight from Bush's regime hacking agency called "Intelligence ". Even those who were conservative members of US Intelligence Committee made good money by selling hacked info. to the Murdoch Empire ( check with Fox News i.e Roger A. ).
President Obama and irrelevant Attorney General Eric Holder failed America and the entire world by covering up for Bush's regime hacking criminal enterprise. US Congress will never allow Congressional hearings where majority of its members might go to jail if US Constitution and Department of Justice are still relevant.
Murdoch's crimes are originated in US and that is the truth which other media will never admit since hacking germs might be under their skin too.
In time all tyrants will fall. The Murdoch family has been in charge of gossip politics long enough-both in the US and England.
Since Murdoch is a US citizen committing crimes in England, shouldn't he be tried as an international criminal?
