Anyone can see what the republican party is all about.Make the wealthy wealthier by putting it on the backs of middle class and seniors.All we hear from them is,dont raise taxes on the job creators.I say bullchit.The tax breaks have been in effect since 2003.I dont see that many jobs.I do think republicans are in collusion with corporations and banks to stall job creation until 2012.These people are so corrupt they would sell thier Mother to get reelected.Everyone should realize,if they succeed in cutting medicare,they'll be back for more next year and S.S.will be included.I'm not up that much on polls or data but Ican see whats happening.Medicare now pays 80%of health care.I believe if republicans have thier way medicare will pay 20%and you will pay 80%.All the while the wealthy are enjoying thier tax giveaway.We need a Democratic majority in both houses.Im really tired of a small number of tea partiers running the country.Why hasnt the tea party ranted against lobbyist reform?Lobbyists are the largest drivers of the debt.I also think lobbyists were the driving force behind the two hot wars we are in now.There was a lot of money to be made by companies of mass construction.They are still intent on keeping us there till hell freezes over.

Yes, we've known this for decades. Remember how we were told that welfare - specifically, AFDC - was bankrupting the country, destroying the budget, etc., etc.? We were told that the country would collapse if we didn't end AFDC. Right. At it's highest (1970s), AFDC used a mere 6% of the budget. Ending this program has caused tremendous suffering, and will have long-term, very costly consequences. The right wing is actually using most of the welfare "reform" playbook in their efforts to steal Social Security/Medicare.
To get out of debt, we have to cut our biggest costs, obviously. That's our war(s) and covering the costs of massive, ongoing tax cuts for the rich/corporations. Since years of massive corporate handouts has left us with fewer - NOT more - jobs, at worsening wages, we have every reason to demand an end to it.
I am a 71 year old white Southern woman and I have to say that Nancy Peloisi seems to be the only Democrat at the senior level who has a set of balls. Go girl!!!!
Mrs. Walker, I agree with you 100%. She has more balls than anyone in Washington, that includes the President who gives prety speeches but you can't feed your family or fill your gas tank with pretty speeches.

So far, it looks like you're right. She's the one who is drawing the line, saying, "Enough! We need to put the country ahead of the whims of the rich."

The radical right will always fight for the rich the super rich and big business/corporate america. The republicans are bought and paid for! 81% of the people want to raise taxes on the rich.
The reason to OPPOSE means-testing Social Security/Medicare: They then turn into entitlements for the poor. Such entitlements, as we saw with welfare "reform," are dependent on the mercy of the American people, who have proved to have little mercy. Means-testing is simply a pathway to ending the programs.
Over 50% of the fed. budget goes into only two things: war(s) and handouts to the rich. That is unprecedented, unsustainable, and that's what has to be ended. America owes nothing to the rich.

i am sure this has never happened to you when you were hosting your own television show, or just in your daily life, as happens to ALL of us. most of us don't have an audience commenting on our every word and mistake.

Wow, Eric Cantor, the ever opportunistic, envious & over-ambitious wanna be leader of the GOP; just committed the ultimate act of betrayal and treason against the USA. Where does his real loyalty lie, with Grover Norguist or Isreal, his "homeland"???.
Its one thing to "rant & fornicate with the devil" about big government and "no increase in taxes", tea -party politics; BUT to "just walk away" from finding a solution, any solution to America's most pressing problem, the debt and deficit; is to say I don't care to what happens to u America.I got another home and country.Talk of divided loyalty!!!.
