Ed's apology to laura ingraham is a good example of what all of us should do if we hurt someone the way Ed must have hurt laura.

As you can see, $450K or $550K just won't cut it.

bill oreilly is very good at what he does, especially if you come to the program as a republican. i listen to both sides, and am very liberal, so i come to his show as a skeptic.

i listen to bill oreilly 2 to 3 days a week at 3:00 A.M. i don't disagree with everything he says, but as a consistent viewer, (i have watched fox news since its inception in 1997) i have noticed a few things about america's most believable.

bill oreilly loves to surround himself with people who grovel at his feet. he does this several times a week with bernie goldberg and dennis miller. bernie goldberg will throw in a token disagreement or two, ya know, just to make the discussion look authentic, but the fact that bill oreilly just sits there and lets him prattle on and on about how great he is, i am embarassed for the whole conversation. not that there is anything wrong with being gay...

this morning i listened to oreilly and miller talking about "enhanced interrogation" and how it contributed to the capture of bin laden.

leon panetta sent a report to john mcCain that said the information they got regarding bin ladens courier did not come because of water boarding. they went on and on about how the left wouldn't admit that enhanced interrogation led to the capture of bin laden, and why won't the left admit this. oreilly even stated that leon panetta said that enhanced interrogation led to the killing of bin laden, which is not true. i find it very disturbing that the republicans and fox news want to take credit for the killing of bin laden, but want absolutely no credit (blame) for the tanking of the economy. they pick and choose about what they want to take credit for.

when bill surrounds himself with "yes" people, people who build him up on air as a daily part of his show, as goldberg and miller do, and others like laura ingraham and dick morris, viewers believe what oreilly and his sycophants say day after day, week after week, month after month, indeed, year after year.

i must say i have noticed a change for the better in bill oreilly since the killing of dr. tiller. he wouldn't admit it, of course, but i believe he was concerned that his "tiller, tiller, the baby killer" rant may have encouraged a right wing zealot to kill the doctor. i have heard him say that the media must be held responsible for what they say, though i doubt he was referring to himself when he said it.

having watched fox news for years, i do not find them the most trustworthy, but i am liberal.
