We'll be talking more about this on tonight's program, but we've just received the Senate Select Committee on Ethics report and letters of referral from the investigation of former Senator John Ensign (R-NV), who resigned earlier this month. Among the conclusions, "the Special Counsel respectfully submits that there is substantial credible evidence that provides substantial cause to conclude that Senator Ensign violated Senate Rules and federal civil and criminal laws, and engaged in improper conduct reflecting upon the Senate, thus betraying the public trust and bringing discredit to the Senate." Ensign resigned after admitting an affair with a married woman on his staff. Ensign's parents also gave the woman's family $96,000.
Here's the Special Counsel’s report, the Letter of referral to the Department of Justice and the Letter of referral to the Federal Election Commission.

the republican party may look at this as a part of the democratic agenda to bring the republican party "down", since campaigns for the 2012 election have ramped up.
Would be great to see this guy in jail.
