The happy couple, Kate Middleton and Prince William
Few things get Last Word staffers up early in the morning. Not getting up before 9:30am is one of the perks of working on our show. However, when undercover reporting calls — we show up for duty. Our mission: live tweeting the royal wedding. Why undercover you ask? First of all, we will literally be under covers, as in still in bed. Secondly, Lawrence is not the biggest fan of The Royal Wedding coverage. It's not that he has anything against royals or Kate, it's just he would prefer not to cover it. You may remember this moment.
That's when we decided to take a page from Sarah Palin's playbook and go rogue.
Join us at 5am ET (or earlier if we're really ambitious) for the live tweeting event of the century! Wear your best pajamas, throw on a pot of English breakfast tea, and tweet us some pics of how you're celebrating, or mourning, the end of William's bachelorhood. We promise you entertaining commentary, completely irrelevant fashion criticism, and of course our favorite memories of Wills.
Disclaimer: Lawrence O'Donnell does not endorse the royal wedding. Thoughts and opinions are our own.
P.S. The actual wedding of the weekend takes place on Saturday when Last Word's Digital Producer Sarah Muller or @DigiMuller as some of you may know her, gets hitched! Congratulations to all of the happy soon to be newlyweds.
Cheers!

A Last Word wedding is far more worthy of attention. Besides, you all actually know the bride!
Cripes, I agree with Lawrence. Talk about making a private event public. Leave those poor kids alone-it was bad enough he had to endure all hi mothers falderal..I wish the couple well with continued happiness and love. We supposedly came here to avoid colonialism and the monarchy. It's bad enough having to put up with the birther crud here. What's next-live tweets from THE donald from the wedding???
Great job guys-keep up the great work ;)
well, at least if he's tweeting we don't have to hear Trumps mouth bloviating.
Well Lawrence, you've definitely established your Irish genealogy for me...
I had a roommate of Celtic descent once who referred to the Union Jack as "The Butcher's Apron."
What is terrifying to me is the Brits seem to be infecting us... Oh not with the "socialism" the Birchers used to scare us with while they shouted against fluoridation in the 60's...
The tabloid journalism makes me nervous even if Rupert Murdoch brought it here via Australia... And British "science" that's still riding the coattails of Scotsmen like Alexander Fleming and Alexander Graham Bell... One has to hold up a sign saying "Remember Piltdown Man" to get a word in edgewise...
Yankee ingenuity seems to have forever traumatized the Isles... Heaven only knows what the space program did to them...
And before that it was Columbus; the British "candidate" was John Cabot who did indeed make landfall in North American, but he failed to return from a second voyage...
The British reply was to publish--for several hundred years--the hysterical rants of Bartolemé de las Casas and insist they were an accurate account of Spanish atrocities in their colonies... No mention of the Brits bringing blankets from smallpox wards and distributing them among Native Americans...
And we are starting to have "royalty" in this country... Oh I know, it's not "Royalty," but your colleague Chris Matthews said yesterday Franklin Graham was one reason he didn't believe in "royalty."
Personally, I think he was just being kind to our 43rd president...
I wish the young soon-to-be-newlyweds well; celebrity can be a burdensome curse, but I trust folks in this country will keep studying their George Orwell...
Alas, he died much too young, but he was certainly an Englishman we could love...
And we need to keep reminding them that Churchill was half-American...
In memory William's mother Prince Diane I am honored to wish them both a happy long lasting marriage. They're both meant for each other.May our heavenly father be their guide in the days to come.We the little people love you both..........
