Thank you, Mr. Bashir. As a young adult my mother was an alcoholic and not very present in my life so I used Planned Parenthood to educate myself on preventing unwanted pregnancies. I raised daughters who are now educated in protecting themselves from STD's and pregnancy. I am forever grateful to Planned Parenthood and all of the women who came before me to empower myself and all of our daughters. Shame on you, Mr. Beck.

Now that Glenn Beck, political hack and full time ranting crazy person, has been unceremoniously booted from the Disinformation Station, you have to wonder what rock he will crawl out from under next...or if he ever will. Apparently even the "We Distort, You Decide" network wasn't sufficiently loony enough to keep Beck from standing out like a pastel leisure suit at a black tie affair. Prior to his firing, rumors were circulating that even fellow hate mongers and misanthropes like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly were becoming uncomfortable trying to defend their increasingly delusional stable mate at FNN. Most of Beck's sponsors had abandoned his show and since Fox is in business for only two purposes 1) pushing the extremist right wing agenda of dismantling all socially progressive programs in the country and 2) making huge sums of money from those aforementioned sponsors inexplicably supported by the social class of viewers in the process of being disenfranchised, there was no longer any need for Roger Ailes to keep him around. There was also the rumor that even the far-right wing Mrs. Murdock (who may have played a part in Beck’s dismissal) had listened to about all she could stomach of Beck's misogynist, anti-Semitic lunacy and incoherent drivel. She is reported to have commented to her husband late in February 2011 "I've been listening to this guy for 20 hours this month and I haven't a single clue as to what point it is he is trying to make..." Rupert is reported to have replied “That’s alright dear, he doesn’t have a point…”.

It's not hard to understand why Beck rarely lasts more than a year or so at any particular gig he's ever had. He is clueless. He has nothing that could even remotely be described as a conscience and is completely without shame. He is stunningly arrogant, insensitive, pathetically patronizing and woefully out of touch with the regular working guy. He has absolutely no desire to do the slightest bit of vetting to see if anything he preaches endlessly as the "truth no one wants you to hear" is in any way factually or historically accurate. Reportedly the only regular research his staff ever concentrated much of an effort on was to tease out little known niches in historical events that he could exploit and turn 180 degrees from the truth. This, in order to make his deranged perspectives and conspiracy theories seem somewhat more believable. Like many of the Tea Party members who view him as the Second Messiah, he championed history as a sort of personal edit du jour and ever evolving subject. Like many Tea Party politicos unable to recall a simple landmark Supreme Court case, define a Constitutional amendment or recall the name of any periodical or newspaper they've read, Beck also wore his lack of basic common knowledge and formal education as a badge of honor. According to the "Book of Glenn", everything President Obama ever said, promoted or conceived of was solely intended toward the destruction of the United States of America. Anything labeled “progressive”, evil incarnate. On the frequent occasions when he babbled himself into an incomprehensible corner even he couldn't fumble or lie his way out of, there were the Jim Bakker-like crocodile tears and the blubbering, hand wringing bouts of phony angst to fall back on. The only thing really lacking in his snake oil Messianic sideshow was a "Tammy Faye" sidekick to weep along. A sympathetic and emotionally fragile female alter-ego who at the mere mention of the evil perpetrated on the country by the "Socialist Left" could instantaneously send rivers of cascading black mascara over her Gucci suits and splashing onto her $5000 Stuart Weitzman pumps. All the while shouting "Praise God for Glenn Beck!" while the madman rushed back and forth across the neon lit set in his black Converse high tops and 1980s style sports coat and jeans get-up frantically scribbling his trademark gibberish onto the ubiquitous chalk boards. I have no doubt had he outlasted the Grim Reaper of sanity, something of that nature, probably repleat with a full orchestra and choir would have eventually evolved out of the sheer conceptual lunacy underlying the basic premise of the program.

I am going to miss him a little bit. On certain days when things hadn't been going well or I had done something particularly stupid, I liked to tune in to Fox during the commercial breaks on the real 5:00 PM news programs. Three and one half minutes of Beck is an eternity for a progressive, but I still always felt a little better when I stuck it out. No matter how dumb a stunt I had pulled, it was always reassuring to know that at least I hadn't been reducing myself to the hypocrisy of earning a living as Glenn Beck. And after everything is said and done, it's even better to know that now he isn't either.

Beck is typical of so much of the religious right in this country. A bunch of supposedly religious people with a total lack of empathy, compassion, or serious understanding of the interrelationships of groups within society. I can't understand why those who are, actually, religious want to have anything to do with the Republican party.

Beck prides himself on being a morman and look at how he hates on the world. If Mitt, who is also a morman runs for president will he also hate on the world?

Athough I find it really strange how the morman church was founded I have always thought well of the morman church. But over the last two years they have lost any crediblity since the church of latter day saints 1) funded fighting aginest gay marriage in CA, 2) did not denounse BECK and all his evil rants and 3) BYU treats athletes of color differant than anglos and is now is showing its racist card.

-It's not that Beck is 'non-Christian'... it's that he has, and promotes, some unethical and some false views.

Planned Parenthood is a fine and useful organization, but it shouldn't be funded by the government. If PP is funded by the government, why aren't ALL fine and useful organizations funded by the government?

Bashir is such an asset to MSNBC and many of us feel that he should have a show in the evening so that a larger audience can listen to his wisdom. A fine journalist - but now also a sublime commentator.
