I truly dislike holy rollers, and I'm an ordained minister. Go figure. His version of "Christianity" has very little to do with Christianity as practiced by those who have actually read, and understand, the Bible. It's one thing to hold beliefs and preach them (ie speak and hold conversations with others), it's something completely different when you proselytize and inflict your beliefs on others. The former is what Christians do, the latter is how tyrants act.

The Bible says "And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Gen 2:7) Man gains a soul when he takes his first breath.

Further - "If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth." Ex. 21:22-25. this is one of the laws of Moses. What did Jesus say about Moses? "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished." Matthew 5:17-18. We have, on the one hand, The Laws of Moses which says that if the woman dies, kill the man, but not the fetus. Life for Life. Then we have, in Jesus' words, giving an absolute, unqualified endorsement of the teachings of Moses.

I ask you, Gary, why do you hate the teachings of Jesus? Why do you pretend to be a "Christian" and not live as a Christian as taught? You proclaim you religion proudly (wait, pride is a sin) and arrogantly assume you know the heart and minds of others (I believe that would be hubris, another mortal sin). You are certainly not living and following the teachings of the One you proclaim to follow. That would mean you are lying and taking the name of the Lord in vain. That's 3 mortal sins. By your reasoning, one minute before the baby is born, its not a human. Tell me, what about the Pre-mies, those babies born even months before it was time? Will you say that their moms gave birth to blobs of flesh? You have no standard for judging when life begins. Please study Luke chapter one and two. When the Blessed Virgin Mary became the bearer of Jesus, at the announcement from archangel Gabriel, only three or four days later, she, being pregnant, arrives to help Elizabeth. What did the BABY John the Baptist do in Elizabeth's womb? He leapt for joy at the PRESENCE OF THE LORD in Mary's womb. Jesus, only three days old (maybe a few hundred cells, at most), had that effect on the BABY John (not blob). READ THE GOSPEL. AND STOP JUSTIFYING MURDER WITH HOLY SCRIPTURE. Learn Psalm 139. The Lord tells us "Before you were born I knit you in your mother's womb."

I fear I am tossing pearls to swine. I hope you take these Scripture passages seriously.

On another note: Somewhere in the Bible it says "Thou shalt not murder." Please bear that in mind. And remember, Jesus is recorded as saying "follow the commandments." Jesus also said, "He who loves me will keep the commandments."

The answer is you have no clue about the issue. The common law, which is hundreds of years old, provides that if the fetus is viable (capable of living outside the womb) it would be murder. Otherwise, there was no crime to the fetus. Roe v. Wade follows that common law in delineating the rights of the pregnant woman and the state. There is no such common law doctrine that provides life begins at conception; it is strictly a religious issue. Common law is as old as religious doctrines because it has roots in Roman law. The greatest expansion of common law was in England after the Magna Carta. English common law was adopted by the states in their own constitutions and the federal government.

RepubliCON's like them to be born so they can do Post Natal abortions on them. They like to cut the healthcare, food stamps and other childrens programs, guess they are sick and sadistic SOB's and like to watch children suffer after they are born. Makes you wonder why we have one of the rising infant mortality rates in the developed world compared to those with universal health programs. hardly a story? after listening to the newly elected tea party House representatives- some of who say that defunding Planned Parenthood has to be on the table- the message is clear. the gov't will shut down because the republicans want to defund planned parenthood. how do you not link this to what is going on concerning the budget when they both occur at the same time? for wanting less gov't, the republicans sure do like gov't on what they consider to be "moral" issues like gay rights or abortion, control of those who they seem to think are "less than" or who can't help them out politically. on the other hand they want less gov't involvement when it comes to regulation of food safety, pollution, wall street and oil. i think there are other places they could find ways to cut the budget other than defunding Planned Parenthood.

I agree. The Tea Party spin is "the American people want this...". I am American and I for one do not want any part of the radical plans of the Tea Party. We need to have a working goverment that HELPS Americans...not punish us for caring about each other. stop trying to push your beliefs about abortion on those of us who feel it is none of our business if someone ELSE chooses to have an abortion. someone here said that those who care so much about doing away with abortion have very little to say about the care of the child after it is in this world. are pro-choicers also against birth control, cancer screenings and health care in general for women? some people need title 10 services. it is unfortunate that we live in a world where unplanned pregnancies occur, where poor women and teenagers get pregnant and have children. defunding planned parenthood doesn't deal with these issues, it only makes it worse to say that this is the way it SHOULD be, or this is the way we wish it were, and try to push our beliefs on everybody else. we still have to deal with the reality in this world, and help those who need it.

As for funding deaths through taxes how about the legal system. How about the tax exempt status of the Florida moron who burns Korans and gets UN folks killed. We do have a death penalty or as some call it Post Natal abortion. Are the same folks protesting those? Nope didn't think so. I personally would prefer not to pay taxes to cover churches. Property taxes are higher for everyone even non-believers to cover their exempt status. We are probably paying for legal help for the morons who got arrested yesterday I'd prefer they sat in the poor house until they could fund their own. I don't want my money going to the Koch's or the other wealthiest in the country. I don't want to pay tax handout's to the oil companies.

If everyone could pick and chose where their tax dollars get spent the system would not be managable. There are some things everyone dislikes.

My advice imagine your money pays for the churches and I'll imagine my money goes to planned parenthood. There we both can sleep a little easier now can't we while paying our taxes.

Is this the same group that is so religious and pious that also wants to deny health care to the young, elderly and poor ? And I object to their tax exempt status. I don't believe in their right to free speech when it is harmful to others.
