Mental note to The Donald: You probably want to double check your own birth certificate before making Obama’s citizenship a campaign issue.
Possible GOP candidate Donald Trump recently joined the ranks of the birthers who question President Obama's legitimacy by challenging his birth on U.S. soil.
Yesterday, Trump looked to cast further doubt upon the President by releasing his own birth certificate to Newsmax, saying "It took me one hour to get my birth certificate. It’s inconceivable that, after four years of questioning, the president still hasn’t produced his birth certificate."
Not so fast. Today, Politico reported the document Trump produced was in fact a certificate of birth issued by the hospital, not an official government-issued birth certificate, which comes via The Department of Health in New York State in the case of Trump. Or in other words, no more or less legitimate than Obama's Certificate of Live Birth questioned by birthers.
Politico's Ben Smith joked, "Trump's mother, it should be noted, was born in Scotland, which is not part of the United States. His plane is registered in the Bahamas, also a foreign country. This fact pattern — along with the wave of new questions surrounding what he claims is a birth certificate — raises serious doubts about his eligibility to serve as President of the United States."
After learning of his mistake, Trump provided a copy of his official birth certificate to ABC News.

I agree with the birthers! If this is such a non-issue, and Obama has nothing to hide, why doesnt' he just put this to sleep by producing the documents in question? After three years of being asked and providing sketchy results, yeah I think there is something fishy going on. You have been using too much hair spray (brain damage) if none of this raises questions in your mind. Further more, Obama is the worst excuse for a President this Country has ever had.
Why does msnbc make this the issue when Trump has just been asked to reveal his birth certificate. They defended Obama when he was asked to produce his in 08. Did it take him as long as Obama? Give him three years and I think he will produce the government document probably this week. Trumps real political issues involve the mockery America is becoming to the rest of the world. We are failing and Obama is not helping. Bad decision 08 and birth certificates are idiotic to talk about. He says it as a challenge.
Why wrong on so many levels every President should have to produce this Document. It is Law that Presidents must be born in the United States. Wrong on so many levels is grasping at straws.

Donald Trump totally confused his followers today by producing 2 birth certificates that show that he was born in a hospital in Jamaica.
Both certificates, the real one and the fake one both say the same thing - Trump is a Jamaican !
As most people know Jamaica is not part of the USA, not like Puerto Rico. Trump still insists that Jamaica is in the US. Saying so doesn't make it so!
Prominent intellectual conservatives have lined up to ask Trump some serious questions:
1. How could you have been born in two places at once?
2. Are you a dual citizen?
3. Your hair really worries us, are you a RASTA?
4. Did you go to a non-Christian Voodoo High School in Kingston?
5. Have you ever contributed to the Jamaican Bobsled Team?
6. Have you ever "palled around" with Bob Marley or Shaggy?
7. Do you know the proper way to spell "REGGAE"?
8. Do you believe in Reggae marriage?
9. Compare and contrast Guantanamo Bay and Montego Bay.
FOX news called the Jamaican embassy for clarification and they said "Donald Trump is very popular here - we just call him 'The Don'. Adding "We cannot confirm or deny that our famous Jerk sauce is named in honor of Trump.

For those that keep calling trump an idiot, why hasn't your guy produced his own long-form birth certificate but instead has spent millions in attorney's fees to keep from producing it? Trump has produced two official documents - you can't even name the hospital where Obama was supposedly born! What's he hiding??????

We have a congress that says it only cares about Jobs, jobs, jobs but hasn't done anything in that arena to help, the threat looms about a govt shutdown, the Wisconsin Governor waged war on Unions but provided a huge tax rate reduction to business, a governor in Michigan is potentially imposing executives in financially troubled municipalities with the authority to fire elected officials, corporations have been granted authority to contribute as much money into the political process as they want so the little $100 that an actual human citizen contributes is rendered meaningless, campaign finance reform needs to be addressed but there isn't anyone in the system that cares, there is a nuclear threat in Japan that is going to impact that country and those people for decades, we are now engaged in Libya, the countries in the Middle East are looking a little destabilized (Syria, Bahrain, Jordan).. ... Where is your outrage/concern on stuff that actually matters?
Elections have consequences. So you don't like the President... work to change it ... clearly people worked to oust democrats in the House in swing districts. Now, just hunker down and work to oust the other characters that you don't like. Quit using this nutty issue! I lose all respect for a person's commitment to a cause when they make this an issue.

So, doesn't that make his situation the same as Pres. Obama, whose father was born in Kenya? In other words, as some birthers say, Obama - and the Donald - is not a natural born citizen because his father was not born on US soil.

I have to confess, they are right about Obama, he's not natural born. Oh he WAS born in Hawaii, but the thing is, we planted an embryo in his mothers womb, so his mother isn't even his mother! I think Lawrence O'Donnell is making a mistake to say bad things about Trump. Trump was on O'Reilly the other night saying that both parties are so bad and that 20 million of our manufacturing jobs are in China and that we have a 300 billion dollar trade imbalance with China. Fox never told their viewers any of these things. Fox lies all the time and does not report anything real about where our debt is coming from because most of it comes from the Republicans working for the corporations. So, now you have a guy on Fox telling the public the truth for the first time. I mean, Dillon Rattigan and Ed Schultz have been talking about outsourced jobs and about the trade imbalance with China forever, but the Fox loons do not ever look at shows that give out real information. All they ever hear is to hate and blame Dems and to vote for Repubs. So now you have Trump saying both parties are idiots, so he is destroying Beck's lies about the Dems are evil, the Dems did it all. Beck said last night on O'Reilly he doesn't like Trump. Of course, Beck is so desperate to stay on the air cause he loses millions of viewers all of the time, and Trump does not bash the Dems. If Trump keeps telling the truth about where our debt is coming from, it proves Beck has been lying the entire time saying blame everything on the Dems. So, Trump can take Beck down and get rid of Fox making people vote R, R and R somemore.
Also, Trump is the ONLY candidate who would slap a 25 percent tariff on Chinese imports. The corporations do not want a 25 percent tax on their imports, so Donald goes up against the corporations. And, who does Fox work for?? Repubs and corporations. So he pisses off the corporations and the Repubs. I say let Trump roll. He is going to end up helping the left more than the right. Let him get the truth out to the Fox loons about where the debt is coming from, which totally discredits Glenn Beck and proves Fox gives out no real information. Let him rip.
I WOULD HAVE LOST THE BET. No way would I have ever imagined Donald taking the recent path he has chosen. A BIRTHER? The Donald? I don't get it. Don, just fly to Hawaii, read all the newspapers of that day, visit the hospital in question, talk to the governorand stop acting like the Birthers who are embarassing the Republican Party.
Proof of the President's birth is a non issue. Donald, if you are serious, come up with some answers for some of these problems we are facing. Your ideas are needed. Also, you don't need a relationship with FoxNews. You have your media.

Why is Orly Taitz who was not born in the US be allowed to pursue this non-sense ? Are American's sleep or desperate to remove this "BLACK MAN" from office ? Have they decided to let an outsider question our citizenship when she herself is not a born citizen of this country....how low has this country stooped ? And the birthers follow a non-Amercian !! They cannot be that desparate to let outsiders ruin the Ameican Dream for others....remember, it can happen to any of your family members if this crazinees does not stop. What utter non-sense !! Why is it that "this President" is being asked to prove something that no other President had to do. I once respected Mr. Trump as a great business man......as an African American I am appauled by how he is trying to bring this President down. Just last year, he said the president was on ther right track. Does Mr. Trump think that African Americans do not feel the outrage surounding this controversy....yes, they do !! Was he and/or his parents born here ? This is showing me a racist side of a person who has it all and can afford to spend money on useless garbarge of discrimination.
