The Fox News faux tough guy has a long history of fictionalizing things. Bill O'Reilly did it on Wednesday night when he called this network "anti-American." Lawrence issued a personal challenge to "Billy" in the Rewrite.
Lawrence’s challenge to Bill O’Reilly
-
Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:22 PM EST

Oh, no! The last 5 seconds, or so, were cut off!
o larry u couldnt last 1 second with Mr. Bill Oreilly...
As much a bully O'Reilly IS, he would never give Lawrence a chance. Wusssss!
That's weird, O'Reilly has liberals on his show, when was the last time MSNBC had a conservative on at 8 PM?
Issendorf
O'Donnell has had conservatives on his program as well as Shultz and Rachel Maddow. What's weird to you?
Faux conservatives*
King, Rand Paul, Louie Gohmert for example? Also Chris Matthews has had several so called conservatives on Hardball.
Because they represent mainstream conservatives well... oh wait, they don't.
Then who does, in your opinion? Who do you consider mainstream? Tea Party or the old guard?
I'm not a Tea Partyer (Rand Paul is extreme right and dangerous in my opinion). I like Romney a lot personally.
You like Romney! hahaha, okay, I DO get it now.
What he did in Utah and Mass. by turning around those deficits are going to be major assets for him in the 2012 election. I don't like everything about him, but the economy/reduction of the national debt is the main issue in the 2012 election in my opinion. I think from his past experiences he could be successful. But, knowing my luck, we'll get another awful candidate like McCain and I'll have to vote third party.
How is it that the election is so far away and you have already narrowed your choices?
Just basing it on the current "front runners." I'm very intrigued at who goes to Iowa and what I hear from the debates. In the end, I hope a candidate arises who is 1) a strong fiscal conservative and 2) able to beat President Obama in a national election. When I look at the front runners that the GOP has now, I am hesitant to believe that any of them can beat President Obama.
I am so sick of MSNBC acting like school kids. You have no "class" when all you people do is put down others. " Stop the agenda that this network is all about" and report the facts and truth in your reporting..... You really act like children when you twist and change the facts for your own agenda. You need to stop the lying and tell the truth. YOU LOVE THE DEMOCRATS!!!!!! That is "OK", but tell both sides of a story.
I watch Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Greta Vansustrin every night.Best tv ever, their ratings are better than all the other networks put together. they have a lot of far left liberal Dems. on their programs, except Beck, of course, he has a one man show most of the time. The host of these shows let the libs speac, unlike Chris Matthews who can't keep his mouth shut long enough to give the consertives, when they do have them on, a chance to get a word in edgewise. I noticed on your show, you take Glen Beck out of context, like the band and the confetti, when he talked about the candy and cookies, you made fun of him. had you watched the whole show, you would have found out that Glen Beck is not a Republican nor a Demacrat. He didn't always have good things to say about George Bush either, but at least he was always respectful. I think you are a pathetic specimen of a human being. Before you report, do your homework and maybe you will have a show worth watching as long as you stick to the truth
@Bunny 3063222> This is a fact, I would love to see Lawrence, Chris, Big Ed, and Rachel Maddow up against Bill O'Reilly, Those guys would look even more stupid than they do on their own shows. Glen Beck could do the same to them.
Lawrence. Notice you only have three total comments on ALL your stories.. This is like your ratings. lol The things you accused O'Reilly of is exactly the things YOU and ALL the MSNBC shows do. And if Fox is a propoganda for the GOP MSNBC is for the Democratic Party. No one twists the arms of the American public to watch Fox, so WHY is it their ratings are three times the ratings of any MSNBC show? By the way, Im no fan of Oreilly and I watch all the networks and I tell it like it is and you at mSNBC just act like juvenile kids in school and make fun at others with condescending remarks IF you ever have a opposing view on your shows and at least O'Reilly does have that ( sorry Lawrence but you lied on that statement) because O'Reilly does have opposing views on his and other Fox shows.
Look at your ratings each and every week and see why you are always LAST and so pathetic... THAT my friend IS the last word!!!
Lawrence was brilliant tonight. So sorry for the defensive remarks here (by others), haha, must be getting to them? I am replying to someone who obviously has their head UP bill 's ass! Sad for you.
I will agree that the call out to "Billy" was the first time that I heard some passion from him. I like watching both MSNBC and Fox when one is on commercial (although I can't stand Hannity and Olbermann). Hopefully he can continue to summon that passion in future episodes and keep me interested.
Ah, nice! :D
Too hardly Fooled, looks like you have been watching, well too much Bill O!
Why come here and insult Lawrence? Most of us here happen to think he is intelligent, honest, has dignity, none of which your BO,has.(any doubt I HAD was errased after his oh so ever charming interview with the POTU!)
I dont go on Bill O page and insult him,or his "Followers'like you, because its not worth wasting my time!
I suggest you go back and take your TV clicker, put it on your local cable fox network, and be satisfied with the pack of lies nutbag Beck,Hannity ,O"Reilly and whoever else is on over there at FOX. Lawrence O was making a valid point that BO sits there everynight and preaches whatever he wants to come out of his mouth.I have watched him on the occassion of re-runs ,when I cannot sleep.Just his segment of MAIL,when everybody writes him and tells him how wonderful he is, is nauseating! I suspect,he never reads the negative ones!
With kindest respect, as your " Bill O Reilly,"you dont have a point!
The reason that Fox has more viewers is because that is all you do. We liberals on the other hand, read, exercise, learn, watch many tv news programs, go to college, discuss our views with others, oh, and yes watch cpac. We are EDUCATED while you are watching fox and not learning anything. You are told what to think by Beck, Sarah, Bill.
I have a little sticker that says "Turn Off FOX : Bad News for America"
Need I say more?
@ not hardly fooled. did you not see the surveys that proved fox viewers ar the least knowledgeable? 108 comments on this one so far. including your nonsense.
@ not hardly fooled, while you are correct, fox news is to the GOP as MSNBC is to the democrats, you still haven't answered the one question that should be asked. After all the fact checking that exists in books, textbooks, internet and all other information sources other than these networks, why is it that all studies points to Fox News being the best at misinforming the viewer? Why is it that they are the worst in accurate information? This is not my opinion, it is a fact. Look it up and get back to me. I would love see your excuse.
WWF has more viewers than FOX; Dancing With the Stars, ditto; American Idol, ditto. What's your point? That the fact that there are significantly more mouthbreathing rubes than intelligent people in this country, makes FOX a quality network? Good argument, genius.
more viewers on dancing with the stars, wwf, american idol. Aren't you shooting yourself in the foot by bringing up such stupid shows that have more watchers, or am I missing something. I love how every time it's stated that no one watches msnbc (because that try but can't stand it and leave), those who don't watch it are morons, rubes, fools and zombies. If it weren't for us on the right that watch msnbc for a laugh, their ratings would be worse than Behar's. All Fox jealousy all the time. Maybe if you had some content rather than criticizing the opposition people would watch, but truthfully, Lawrence is trying way to hard to get a reaction from Fox so maybe someone will take the bait, sending Larry some viewers. Ain't gonna happy Larry, you're still a 50% and declining loser, and your dragging down the house. Good Job, keep up the good work, your Momma's proud, if no one else.
I guess people like to hear hate mongering and lies. That's what FOX entertainment is all about....You know it and so does everyone else. Why do you stand up for them. or you are one of the rats headed to the water behind the pied piper. Think for yourself
I felt I should say something about your Bill O'Reilly piece on Monday. I fully agree that O'Reilly is an inarticulate, poorly educated bully, however I think his questions about the origins of the moon, tides, etc. were religious in nature and not just pure stupidity, as was implied by your piece. He was questioning who is responsible for gravity, matter and the laws of nature as we know them. To O'Reilly that would have to be some kind of supreme being.
Wrong! It WAS stupidity, to be nice.
And, he was obviously implying something else, with his usual bully tactics and never backing anything up. Oh ya, he's a real tough guy that o'reilly. THIS man is your intellectual elite? hahahaha:)))))))
No, he's a Roman Catholic. Explain where the gasses came from the Big Bang? That's what I thought.
Read science books, that would help.
No, there isn't anything in the science books that says WHERE the gas from the big bang came from, unless my astro physics class at UW-Madison is inaccurates? If you do know where the gas came from, you should publish a paper and win a Nobel Prize!
So rather then there being an unintelligent mass of earth that spontaneously exploded to create life as we know it today, your sticking with an omnisciently powerful and aware being that has been here for all time created itself (or was for all time), then the mass which exploded and created life according to it's creators rules?
Each have the same amount of evidence. None.
But one asks people to believe an omniscient force has been here for all time and the other says mass has been here for all time??
Which is more probable?
Issendorf
Your argument carries with it a huge lack of understanding for Chemistry. Heat up ANY ELEMENT to temperatures that existed in the beginnings of the big bang, and you'll get a gas.
Problem solved (although it was already solved you were just ignorantly ignoring it)
Any element is matter is it not? Yes, yes it is. And where did that matter come from exactly? In the end, neither of us will ever know for certain. We are both making 'bets' as to whether or not there is a supreme creator. If I'm wrong, and there is no God, then nothing really happens. If you're wrong, and there is a God, well.... it may be an unpleasant afterlife for you.
Only if he's an egomanical child who demands worship and sacrifice.
If he's an objective observer of his ant farm, then only those who twist idealogies for their advantage will have 'an unpleasant afterlife'.
Those of us who actually follow the Golden Rule, Hi that's me, will be just fine. I love you Religious types who throw Pascal's Wager around like it's valid. When your only proving how little you care about your 'faith'.
http://www.alternet.org/belief/149920/why_it%27s_not_a_%27safe_bet%27_to_believe_in_god?page=entire
False dichotomy alert!
If you are wrong and there is no God, then you can't really say that nothing happens because every hour you spent in Church (instead of working, playing, or doing things with your family) and every dollar you sent to the collection plate instead of to a charity is wasted.
There is another question, in addition to the article, that you have to answer. Which God is the right one?
If Zeus is at the Pearly Gates, then you are in the same boat that 99% of the living population is.
I don't consider my time in Church as wasted. What gives you the right to declare that time I spend gathering my thoughts and thinking how I can live my life as a better Catholic as wasted? Not to mention that the Catholic church donates billions to charities around the world.
I believe that the God associated with Jesus Christ is the correct one for a very logical reason. Most historians have come to the conclusion that Christ lived. Few, if any, legit historians deny this fact. When Christ was crucified, the apostles were terrified. There is little doubt about this either. But, something changed. They became not afraid. Peter and the like, (and their deaths are well documented) were no longer scared of death. Many saints suffered brutal deaths, again well documented and Google can easily lead you to them. I personally would not be willing to sacrifice my life in such a gruesome and painful matter for something I knew was a hoax. But that is just me. Perhaps others would be stronger. I don't think Peter would be willing to be crucified upside down for something he knew was a hoax.
Very interesting article Illuminatis. I erred in using Pascal's as a legitimate excuse for my belief, just as O'Reilly using the tides was. My second response is a more accurate explanations for my choosing Roman Catholicism as my religion.
O'Reilly? Poorly educated? He graduated from Harvard as well....
Lawrence, finally someone has taken on the BULLY O'Reilly. Thank you for having the courage to go after the political hacks on the Fox Network and their big honcho -- O'Reilly. You said all the right things. I remember all the ambushes by O'Reilly's producer (Jesse Watters) over the years. A coward to be sure. Bill was downright gleeful when Watters ambushed a judge carrying his trash can out to the curb in front of his property. How about the reporter from the 'Atlantic Journal-Constitution' who Watters ambushed! She was time enough for his antics. But Bill would not leave Dr. Tiller alone. Night after night after night he demonized this man. We all know full well what happened to Dr. Tiller. Shot at point blank range in the head in his church in front of his wife by an anti-abortionist. The likes of O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin (speaking of "Unhinged"), Beck, Ingraham, Dick Morris, Crowley, Goldberg, the Fox & Friends trio -- even the comedian(?) Dennis Miller spread nothing but fear, hate, lies, contempt, ridicule to anyone who doesn't agree with their agenda. The other night, Crowley referred to our president as "that guy" on Fox. Whatever happened to patriotism from this right wing crew? I was taught to respect the office of the presidency -- even though you may not have voted for or agreed with the president. The way Bret Baier and O'Reilly handled their interviews with President Obama was not respectful. Can you imagine if George W. was president and Olbermann asked him "Why do people hate you?" Surely with limited time for this interview, a more substantive question could have been asked. But O'Reilly will not stop talking about his interview with our president. His ego is too big. It would be interesting to see how many times the other interviewers who scored the president's interview prior to the Superbowl referenced their interviews ad nauseum like Bill has done. Keep up the good work Lawrence. I will be one of your loyal followers and thank you MSNBC for giving him a show. And, I will wait, with you, for O'Reilly to meet your challenge.
Dylan,
Very well said.I forgot about Denis miller. The reborn Republican! As my very Irish American Mother used to say, there is nothing worse than a REBORN ANYTHING!He is bad.Not funny at all.he thinks he is!i better shut up,or I will go through your list....:)
when u say u will b one of his loyal followers your rite 'ONE FOLLOWER'
It's a wonder he can walk into a room with a head that big.
Lawrence -- You don't suppose that some of the Fox network people are posting here do you? O'Reilly loves to brag about his ratings. : - )
I will tell you what is to be laughed at, it is MSNBC's ratings! Liberalism is failing and you guys are just so angry you cant stand it. I'm not going to say that I am a fan of Bill O'Reilly, but I will say a big thankyou for Fox News. I will bet that fox news viewers are much more informed than the mainstream media viewers, regardless of what some study by some liberals reports. Please keep doing what you have been doing, so that your ratings keep falling! The public does not depend on the mainstream media any longer. There are plenty of news outlets out there.
YOU, sound angry to me? Why? Aweeeeeeeeeeeee, so so sorry!
Isn't it sad when people can not counter the arguments of a scientific study??
Attack the methodology, how it was set-up, who was interviewed. Barring that, you end up looking like a infant whining for it's bottle.
3 things wrong with Keith-3055097, his people and their views.
1. Argumentum Ad Populum, it doesn't matter how many lemmings believe a lie, it's still a lie. Your ratings mean nothing to confirm legitamacy. They actually say more about how people don't want their views challeneged and prefer to be spoon fed information that isn't counter to their views.
2. It has been spoken on multiple times, but is still ignored. The large portion of MSNBC's viewership use DVR's to 'time-shift' their viewing experience. TV Ratings still DO NOT account for such technologies. A large portion of Fox News viewers are the geriatric generations who still can't figure out how to turn the TV on with the Surround sound. SO they watch at the regularly scheduled times (letting Media providers rule their schedule, which I despise).
3. When shown evidence that they are actively being lied to or, to the lesser extent, being inundated with propaganda, they attack the messenger. Only proving humans confirmation bias. They would rather be wrong their whole life then admit being wrong, and changing course.
1) I agree completely. Although every media org. in the world has a bias and is probably not 100% accurate. Is Fox guilty of being inaccurate? Yes. Is MSNBC also guilty? I would probably guess yes.
2) Fox wins in pretty much every demographic breakdown (age wise anyway) that you want to look at. Also, some ratings orgs include a Live + 7 which helps to include DVR numbers. Fox wins these as well. Ratings aren't as essential as they were during the era of the Big 3, but they are still important and still relevant to some extent.
3) I agree with most of this. Fox has more fanboys than MSNBC. But, I think the silent majority of Fox's viewers realize that all cable news has a slant, but would prefer a more conservative slant than a liberal slant.
I really don't give a rats ass about ratings....Ms. Maddow did a thing about ratings a few months ago. Deadliest catch out rates the Billo show....bully for you and the Fox entertainment network. I would like the truth once in a while. And Fox just is not it....Sorry rightys
The video cut off the last bit!! No matter, I'll just catch it on the podcast... wait, what do you mean there's no podcast???
MSNBC, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
I'd like to use Mr. Macleod's statement above as a lead-in to my comment re: Bill O'Reilly. Mr. Macleod obviously cares about things like fairness, and truth in journalism. In my opinion that is the primary difference between the people who tune in to see O'Reilly treat his guests with rude, obnoxious disrespect and the ones who watch Lawrence O'Donnell. I watched O'Reilly a few times a few years ago, but soon couldn't stand it because I actually expected him to do interviews rather than ask a question (one he wanted to answer, of course) let the guest get three words out, then interupt them screaming his own opinion. But that, of course, is the show: pretending to "vanquish" one's enemies by simply bellowing loud enough that nobody can hear what they have to say. And as for anyone who disagrees with him being "un-American"--ho, hum. What's new? After all that's the only answer he's got isn't it?
Yeah, me too, I love the fairness of MSNBC. Like Chris Matthews, showing such class calling Michelle Bachmann a balloon head, Olberman (who?) calling Palin stupid, Ed Schultz talking about anything he garners from his tin hat. I haven't really watched Larry until the diatribe last night challenging O'Reilly to "meet me at the playground after school, I'll pull you letter sweater over your head and make you cry." What a deft and intelligent position regarding the fact O'donnell's losing the ratings war and trying to get help from Fox? Huh! Good luck Larry, I'm sure you, Keith and Al will have a fun and entertaining reunion after Comcast fires your limp, fragile a##. Bye Bye.
I agree....Not unlike Chris Matthews who works up a sweat talking over his guests...it's not lively debate.
The Last Word kicked butt tonight and these peeps can't handle it.
I totally agree.
Keep up the great work Lawrence!
His 17 fans must be giddy that he didn't put them to sleep tonight.
Fan #16 here, very proud and entertained. Your comment does make me sleepy though. ZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzzzz..........
Snappy comeback brah
This is a station of wimps for wimpS. I swear u have to have a lisp to qualify to speak on this show. I don't see any butt kickers here.
Or you have to get really angry and yell really loud like Ed Schultz does when the GOP doesn't push through legislation he 100% agrees with.
Wow, you watch more MSNBC than me! You MUST be smart!
Tyty
So why don't the oil companies pay for heat for the poor?? They get subsidies that the GOP will not vote to stop. Or maybe that guy from South America will pick upthe bill like he did before. He knows the US oil companies have cold hearts and won't do an iota to help anyone but themselves.
"I will bet that fox news viewers are much more informed than the mainstream media viewers, regardless of what some study by some liberals reports."
I'll take that bet any day.
Bill-O and his colleagues over there at Faux News are a joke.
Your comment that Bill O’Reilly is no Irish tough guy reminds me of a story involving my younger brother. His first job out of law school was at the SEC in Washington. Late one night after too many beers, my brother confessed that he was anti-Semitic. He did not know that character flaw about himself until moving to DC and it bothered him. A year or so later I brought up the subject of his anti-Semitism. At first he looked incredulous and then said he was not anti-Semitic. After I reminded him of our previous conversation I could see the light go on and with a smile he went on to explain: When he first started working at the SEC he kept running into despicable lawyers who happened to be Jewish. Base on that experience he concluded that he did not like Jews. As time went on he met Jewish lawyers that he liked and he met other despicable lawyers that were not Jewish. It turned out that he did not like lawyers form Long Island.
I know quite of few Irish guys who are the sons of Butte miners. Bill O’Reilly would not last long in that crowd.
sic 'em, Lawrence! You put that pompous, arrogant piece of fascist scum on the hot plate. I salute you!
why do you keep giving sarah palin coverage ? please stop and let her fade away into the dark hole where she came from
Valid commentary, but the more she says the deeper the dark hole?
Valerie, I agree. If she were ignored she might just go away.
Lawrence, O'Reilly is not worthy of your attention. While the Rewrite was enjoyable, it is far beneath you to spend time on this guy. You're only giving him more publicity. I know you're probably expected to pick up where Olbermann left off, but please limit your O'Reilly pieces. You're way too good for this type of thing.
Why NOT pick up where Olbermann left off? If that's how he feels?
I thought he was genuine and brilliant.
Why not? For exactly the reason I stated. O'Donnell should use his wit and intelligence to comment on things that matter, not give more power to a hater like O'Reilly.
Okay then, good point, sort of. I still think Lawrence was genuine and honest and overall it was a good thing. By exposing and challenging O'reilly, I don't think it gives him more power. Bill O has all the 8pm prime time tv power he can get. His bully ego is driven by the high ratings.
Remember, we ARE talking about TV commentary?
I liked Olbermann's show, and I feel Lawrence filled a gap tonight, finally. He connected with his audience. It was only one segmen, one show. I feel great about it and so should he!
We agree in principal, and should not fight online. unless.......
Gotta go, I have a life.
Good going Last Word! NICE!
I agree with Alleycat-3035371 here. I was a nightly DVR Olbermann watcher and have only missed a few Last Words, at both time slots.
But if Lawrence wants to stay out of the arguments that weighed down olbermann and maddow after he left, he needs to stop giving Fox News any credit. By merely mentioning them, he's giving them legitimacy that the parasites who watch Faux News feed off of. Look at the comments above, at least 5 comments already pushing the Argumentum Ad Populum, because of high ratings, somehow they are special. They are not special. And if Lawrence acted like Faux News didn't exists and just kept up a high bar of journalistic integrity, then Faux will be shamed by thrid parties for not following suit (EVENTUALLY, i realize Faux has been on air since 2001, but those were Republican years.)
Everytime Lawrence or anybody not of Faux News does a piece like this, Faux News just eats it up getting strong and bigger with the criticism.
Lawrence needs to lead by example rather then, "They did it first"
I think Lawrence could absolutely hold his own against O'Reilly as I have witnessed the man take on Right-wing guests and verbally burn them to the ground in bold fashion live on the Last Word. This show might more acurately be called Hardball if name wasn't already taken. I like all the Msnbc folks, but Larry's really got what it takes. Fox News doesn't have anybody as good as this guy.
"congratulations, you won!" My comp must have a virus (other than fox news), goodnight:)
Is it possible that MSNBC could report on something besides the Fox News Channel? Keith, Rachel and Lawrence seem to be unaware that an entire world exists outside the tea party and Sarah Palin. Maybe, and this is a big MAYBE, the personalities and celebrities (notice I did not say reporters or journalists) could have a topic on their 8pm and later shows that do not have to do with the republicans? I know that would leave a lot of room for original thought, but I think that these people are capable. And with a little hope, a dream and some elbow grease, we could bring the ratings for these shows up! Here is a hint, bashing gets old after a while, if you trail Sean Hannity in ratings and all he has on the show are 'birthers', you really do suck. When I turn on the TV, I don't want to hear about 9/11 conspiracy, George Bush stealing an election, Obama having secret al Qaida meetings and GOD FORBID another non-nonsensical rant by Rachel Maddow on how the USA was responsible for the Suez Canal (does she pay top dollar for her hallucinogenics or what??).
Norman I must agree with you 100%. As much as I have tried to watch MSLSD it is always the same nonsense from the Nite Crew. But I have to laugh at Larry Boys wanna be tough guy act and trying to get anyone to notice him. Geez Larry Boy it must really hurt to be booted from a highly rated show like "West Wing" to being Olbermann's sloppy seconds replacement. It also has to sting being right before the real man of the station Rachel Madcow or as most like to refer to him as "The Militant Coke Sniffing Lesbian" I've seen more Liberals and their views expressed on Fox, CNN, BBC,PBS then have seen on any of your shows. And for a turd under the nose sneering Socialist like yourself to claim there are no other opinions on the other stations is as funny as Bill Maher thinking he is some kind of Movie Star looks funny man. Larry boy larry boy please don't try and get into a gun fight with a feather .........well unless you are going to the annual "Barney Frank Boy Scout Meeting Sleepover" Looking at the love in your eyes over Barney last night I can only reel in disgust at the tingle you have on your body for him. Oh and after reading your Bio I can understand why you dislike Arnold so much being your other half probably had more pleasure in the movie they did together then anytime looking at your Pinhead.
#19 How dumb is it to ask a network who's moniker is "The Place For Politics" to not talk about the Republicans?
You do realize they are almost half of the politics in this Nation, therefore not mentioning them would create a huge gap in programming.
so you turn to Fox for fair and balanced? Isn't that their motto? Maybe the point you are missing is that BILL SEAN AND SARAH are not THE republicans - any more that Jesse Jackson is the voice of the black man.
gap in programming - like the gap between your ears
O'Donnell vs O Reilly And it's a KNOCKOUT!
MSNBC has the BEST commentators who stand up for ALL Americas, not just the top 1 percent
Then why doesn't anyone watch?
I want the drugs YOU'RE taking!
Meet me behind the pub on Elm in half an hour and I'll hook you up
Sorry, your Republicans have kept it illegal.
It's a secret!
How can you meet anyone? You will miss the Hannity replay! Ouch!
lol ^^ - like I'd waste an hour of my life watching Sean Hannity say anything
I wonder why FNC's prime time shows CONSISTENTLY beat MSNBC? You can't dispute the numbers. That is the REAL reason Keith left...his numbers were getting worse year over year.
And, now, Lawrence can't even beat Parker/Spitzer.
I wonder how long ComCast will allow this losing streak to continue?
Who gave you your "numbers"? Hannity?
Wrong!
Read them and weep:
mediabistro dot com slash tvnewser slash the-scoreboard-friday-february-11_b53117
Parker Spitzer is winning in the 25-54 according to tvbythenumbers.com (at least on the 11th). If you knew anything about television, that's the only demographic networks care about.
@ Ted E Bear - indeed, you are from some sort of hell.
@IssendorK- I am happy your immense knowledge of TV makes your life complete.
43, in the demo. Later!
I'm a TV, Radio, Film major so I kinda need that knowledge to make my life complete.
PS: Another snappy comeback!
PPSS: How long did it take you to change Issendorf to Issendork - you're so clever and funny!
As long as it took you to notice?
Good luck with the tv film career, for real. Nice mixing it up a bit.
I'm just a lovable troll
Really, Issendorf? Are you having a hard time with numbers? The report says in the 25-54 catagory:
O’Donnell = 174, Parker Spitzer = 229, O'Reilly = 598... How is Parker winning? Did you flunk Elementary school?
Well you see, 229 is higher than 174. The numbers are in millions. I was implying that Parker was beating O'Donnel. The original poster said O'Donnel couldn't beat Parker Spitzer. While Parker is losing overall, they are winning in the most important demographic. And obviously with O'Reilly, love him or hate him, he crushes everybody else in the ratings. Context clues my dear sir.
wow! out of a population of 330 million there are 1001 million watching cable news that's impressive!
It's pathetic that you're comback is commenting about my typo about the label. Bravo.
To me a typo is typing "htousands" instead of "thousands", using the word millions instead of thousands smacks of ignorance, and when one is spouting one's own knowledge of a subject, it's funny! Hence the smart alec response.
I will never understand why people feel the need to go to websites of people/TV shows that they don't agree with or like for whatever reason and deride that person or show. Especially when all you are saying is "my pundit is better than your pundit, nah nah ne nah nah". Feel free to call me stupid, but I just don't get it, so I make fun of it.
Larry called out Billy. I personally think O'Reilly is the second fairest of the prime time lineups of MSNBC/Fox (Greta being a clear first, Maddow a close third). Just giving the other side of the argument that may get lost by just watching one news organization/pundit.
GREAT SHOW!! That phony Irishman O'Reilly needs to have his act called: just one more billowy blowhard bully - thank you, Lawrence, for standing up to thie Clown-O!!
Meanwhile...maybe we could get a collection going for Coulter to go first in the next Journalist Jail program....how about a one way to Abu G. for her?
Id put my money on oreilly. I watched 15 minutes of your news program and would like 15 minutes of my life back. U need to take news out of your vocabulary as u report none of it. Ur program is as pathetic as ur ratings.
hadn't watched this show before but caught the last 10 minutes during O'Donnell's rant on O'Reilly. Appeared to me very strange, almost drug induced speech. Then I went to check the TV ratings and it made sense. you do that when your ratings are 1/3 that of the show you attack I guess. Olbermann was waaaay better.
I am new to politics and never cared about them until the last 8 or so years. I like to get both sides of things I don't have a good understanding of. I was raised in a non-political house and don't ever remember one single conversation about it. With that background my (I like to think, educated) opinion is that 80% of media is left leaning and impacts the public, especially the young, dramatically. It's a smart plan. I find it ironic that minority reporting (right leaning) media have a sizeable advantage in viewers/listeners. My experience has been the media on the right tend to bring more facts and rational dialogue while the media on the left tends to spend a majority of their time attempting to cut down and make fun of the people in the media with opposing views. It scares me that our country can have a majority of media impacting people that way. On the other hand, it seems to not be working if the last elections are any indication. I see the election of President Obama as very similar to the election of Jesse Ventura as the govenor in MN. Young people were tired of the status quo and wanted a change even if it wasn't the best. (I was one of those young people) President Obama was elected by racists (94% of black people voted for him...meaning many voted based on race only) and by guilt of other races trying to prove they weren't against a black president. The end result will be the same...people will realize they made a mistake and hopefully educate themselves before the next vote.
For those asking...Palin is brought up for ratings and because most left media is scared of the influence she has. I don't think she would be a good president however she does impact a large number of people who are opening their eyes...many for the first time.
Lawerence...you looked silly tonight. I don't recommend a repeat.
you are still new to politics.. right = facts? come on man!
