Meghan McCain, an outspoken critic of divisive rhetoric within both political parties, has some choice words for tea party darling Rep. Michele Bachmann.
When discussing Bachmann’s State of the Union response in an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell she said, “I think its important to note that Michele Bachmann is not a leader. She not a leader of the Republican Party.” McCain added, “Michele Bachmann in my opinion is no better than a poor man’s Sarah Palin.”
Bachmann has been in the spotlight of late on cable news shows and blogs for publicly skewing facts about slavery and speaking to the wrong camera during her much-hyped SOTU response video.
“It is one rogue woman that can’t even look into the camera directly,” said McCain. “ I take none of it seriously and I think if the tea party wants to put a candidate up to give a response, why don’t they have someone like Rand Paul who was elected on the tea party platform give that."

she is an embarrassment
Well, she is young, which is the best time to be silly.
i wonder if mccain will be turning over in his grave when his daughter inevitably switches party shortly after his, im sure to be full of honors, funeral.
Nah, from what I saw, the embarrassment was the Prez. He basically said he is a failure. Two years into his presidency and he still refuses to take responsibility for his actions. He is apparently too stupid to know that for the last 4 decades we have been throwing money at the public education system and he still says that the union members who support him don't do their job well. Talks about all the spending he wants to do (he calls it investing) and thinks he can fool us by throwing in comments about fiscal responsibility, putting people to work and make us competitive worldwide.
Although, I have to admit, he's gotten away with not making any sense so far, so there is no reason why he should feel that he has to make any sense now. It's not a requirement of being elected to office.
If you think "the prez" is an embarrassment, what do you have to say for the last "prez". From the sounds of your post you voted for that one. Who's the embarrassment now? What is a "prez"?
Let's see now...hmmm.... George Bush....Al Gore..... John Kerry.... hmmm. Yep, I voted for Bush. There was really no competition there. Picking either of the other two would really have been an embarrassment!
she is an embarrassment
Really?? She is the best thing you Repubs have going! Not to mention she has some common sense and a brain to match.
Heaven forbid someone calls out the Repugs! Even your own members think you are unreasonable and a few cards short of a full deck!
A poor man's Sarah Palin, eh?
Well, let's not forget that even Sarah Palin herself is a poor man's Sarah Palin.
That is a cruel a cut as has ever been rendered in the English language: "A poor man's Sarah Palin"!
Good god, that's just... well, until now inconceivable!
Sometimes the ignorance on this board bewilders me. She's talking about Palin and Bachmann, and some idiot trys to insert President Obama. I'm sure that's what "prez" meant to be.
Witch should run for "prez" because he's so f*ing smart!
To those who think Ms. Bachmann did a good job, a HUGE number of us Obama supporters hope and pray every day that either she OR Sarah Palin becomes the Republican nominee in 2012.
If you mean Palin, you're 100% right. If you mean McCain, you're 100% wrong.
It's good to know that the McCain courage, pride and fight for right lives on in his daughter. It's so sad for a child to witness an elderly father's decline in his mental and physical agility. It must be devastating to watch him lose all that made him a man.
those uptight, mentally constipated GOP circles.
==========================
You wouldn't be talking about whichrunner now, would you? Talk about embarrassing..........reading the posts of the cons and baggers on several stories here on MSNBC tonight they are proving the dumbing down of America is succeeding. It's sad to realize how badly the US education system has failed them.
Yes, Bachmann is an embarrassment.
The fact that there are people this stupid is why Republicans can get elected. You could give Gore or Kerry a lobotomy and they'd still be far superior in every way to Bush.
Well there ya go. I think that Meghan sees these damaging woman (Dude Bachmann, PROUDLY IGNORANT Sarah, et al) for EXACTLY what they are.... OPPORTUNISTS without the smarts, who are reaching for statuses which they are no where near qualified.
They all lack decorum, tact, intellectual curiosity, intelligence, diplomacy - you name it whatever qualities a leader MUST have, they don't have any of them..... and what's worst, they will LIE at the drop of their ratty weaves and bumpits, and don't even care if we all know it.
That dude Bachmann was looking into the wrong camera because her eyes are wild and situated wrong in their sockets. She seems to have this constant crazy glazed over look into her eyes, that NEVER blinks. It's freaky, and a real sign that she's... well.... a RAVING NUT.
Sarah Palin "may" be attractive (I'll have to see her without all of that pancake makeup painted on her face) but that dude Bachmann has a face that scientists all over this planet would like to disect - especially her eyes. The scientists would like to study both of their brains.
The scary part is that it doesn't matter to ANY of these nutty women's followers - who would jump off of a real tall building if these ignorant phony teataliban women told them to do so.
They're all an embarrassment to women (who have worked very hard to be taken seriously) and to this country and this planet.
You're talking about Bachmann, right?
Because this McCain kid is on the money.
only to bachmann and palin
I didn't think you could use the words "poor" and "republican" in the same sentence.
The rich democrats far outnumber republicans in DC. Funny how democrats think that other democrats are poor.
Anyway, I enjoy Bachman, and cannot understand why anyone puts a microphone in front of this silly McCain girl. She has done nothing, and her only notoriety comes from being the child of a war hero and Senator.
I would rather they interview Paris Hilton or Perez, as both are at least interesting at times. I guess it is a very slow news day, or MSNBC had to really reach to find anyone willing to take shots at Michelle B.

Damn, I miss that guy!
Does that mean that Sarah Palin is for rich people? I think Sarah Palin is for the ignorant and uneducated.
You mean Bachman and Palin are embarassments? Megan McCain is one of he few Republicans with wit and reason.
Teabag talkie heads promote and revel in the intellectual stagnation of their deluded masses. If they don't see recent embarrassing moments like their recent darlings orgy of ignorant ramblings as a wake up call, perhaps they will have to just be written off from society...........maybe some day we will have a national memorial to them.......Casualties of Stupidity....
Meghan's a hoot! Somebody, please, help her find a real job.
Meghan McCain is the poor man's Cindy Sheehan. Just like Cindy, as long as she keeps bashing Republicans the libs will follow her like dogs in heat but the moment she criticizes a democrat she will disappear... just like Cindy Sheehan.
Cindy is still around of course (http://cindysheehanssoapbox.blogspot.com/). Here is a recent comment from her blog:
When such vitriol as that was directed at GW Bush it led off the evening news.
Someone please tell this snotty little b!tch to STFU. No one, and I mean NO ONE gives two sh!ts what she thinks.
Meghan McCain is hot!!! Makes me wonder who her real father is.
"Paul F
The rich democrats far outnumber republicans in DC. Funny how democrats think that other democrats are poor."
Maybe so, but at least the Democrats are trying to use their wealth and power for the good of the country.
The rich Republicans went over to the dark side of their corporate masters long ago, and have no interest in the welfare of this country or it's people.
Don't take my word for it. Just watch them in action.
The election was about jobs and not about repealing laws that most Americans want to keep.
But, before they start talking about jobs, though, they will need to ask for more tax cuts for the rich and find ways to punish Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries.
The worst thing the Republicans could do would be to pass any legislation that would actually create jobs and reduce unemployment.
To do that would be political suicide, since Obama would get reelected, and the Republican numbers in the House and Senate would be reduced, in the next election.
The Republicans' best strategy to make Obama a one-term president, is to destroy our economy. So far, the strategy seems to be working.
There will be no money for infrastructure or seed money for research into emerging technologies, as these actions would create jobs and spur innovation.
"tempusfugit1
Meghan's a hoot! Somebody, please, help her find a real job."
I don't think Meghan will have any problem finding a job, either real or otherwise.
And she won't be living off the taxpayer dole, as is the case of Bachmann.
I hope she opts out of her taxpayer provided, government run health insurance, soon so that she can save us some money.
It's bad enough that we have to pay her a salary for doing nothing.
"roscoe-841582
Someone please tell this snotty little b!tch to STFU. No one, and I mean NO ONE gives two sh!ts what she thinks."
Are we still talking about Bachmann? That's the only snotty little bitch in the story.
Well roscoe (that wouldn't be with a "P Coaltrain" would it?), not sure exactly which "snotty little bitch" you're referring to but if it's Bachmann you're right but if it's McCain I would say you're wrong. Judging by the comments it's Bachmann that only a hand full of people want to hear, namely tea party nuts. McCain probably is only saying what her father John has said in private but is afraid to go public for fear of losing votes.
Glad to oblige....Ok Roscoe, STFU!
So, is Meghan a poor man's Bristol?
Agreed...Bachmann is an embarrassment!
I love how republicans despise the notion of investing in our nation.
Its pretty patriotic! I mean, they want us all to invest our social security dollars on wall street, but hell no we cant invest our collective tax dollars in FINALLY properly funding education and rebuilding our nation and be leaders and innovators.
Can someone explain to me how Wall Street ISNT a ponzi scheme. Or, at the very least...how it ISNT a glorified Las Vegas.
It seems, on wall street, the house keeps winning...while lots of peoples 401K's keep taking the hit. And, we are to believe, our social security wouldnt get raped in the same exact way?
Im only 31 and in my short 13 years of full time employment, ive seen 401k's crash 3 times...only to keep hearing "but you're still young, you'll make all that back".
Not if this keeps happening...no i wont.
"Let's see now...hmmm.... George Bush....Al Gore..... John Kerry.... hmmm. Yep, I voted for Bush. There was really no competition there. Picking either of the other two would really have been an embarrassment!"
I voted for Bush in 2000, but after his first 4 years, I saw what problems he and his string puller Dick Cheney were causing for our country, so I supported McCain in the 2004 primary. When he didn't win (and I really didn't think he would), I voted for Kerry just to get Bush/Cheney the hell out of the White House. Now if you voted for Bush after his first four years, that is something to be embarrassmed about.
god bless sorry but M Bockman is not young but is in her forty's or more depending on her make up artist
Michael Buie
You're talking about Bachmann, right?
Because this McCain kid is on the money.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
....Just an objective observation, at least McCain is looking at the camera in the picture above.
....Now a subjective observation. Making critical remarks about people like Bachmann, Palin, etc., is certainly setting yourself up to be verbally abused and insulted by some of those on the far right, so I have to say that I respect McCain for having the courage to speak her mind in spite of threat of incurring the wrath of such cerebral types as Limbaugh, Beck, and...well...witchrunner. Have a good day!
"I would rather they interview Paris Hilton or Perez, as both are at least interesting at times"
....Really? When? The fact that you find them interesting should be a major embarassment.
"Meghan's a hoot! Somebody, please, help her find a real job."
...Yeah, yeah, yeah...like Limbaugh, Beck and Palin!
Spike (#1.20)......One big thank you, we need some humor once in a while, I'm still laughing, and I guess I miss that guy as well.
i think writing her off as an embaressment is ironically just her point. you guys dont even want to hear what she has to say. and i think her belief that rhetoric is dividing this country is so true. i seldom hear people say "fellow american" anymore, i hear much more often "he's not my president" "their country is not my country" and whatnot. the rhetoric is having real cultural impact on america and coddling a "me vs. you" mentality while china will far pass us up, and by then we will be swimming in rhetoric so we will only be able to point fingers, and not unite in action.
"Meghan McCain is the poor man's Cindy Sheehan. Just like Cindy, as long as she keeps bashing Republicans"
..She's not bashing Republicans, she's bashing incompetents and phonies, or are you saying they are one in the same? I believe there are still some good people in the GOP (Brown MA?) who are willing to do what they can for the good of the whole country rather than blindly pursue an extreme ideological agenda.
"Someone please tell this snotty little b!tch to STFU. No one, and I mean NO ONE gives two sh!ts what she thinks"
NO ONE? NO ONE! Roscoe, Roscoe, Roscoe....Wrong, you obviously cared enough to read and post about it, dumbass (you call her a bitch, I call you dumbass, fair is fair). Next time you want to post something this contradictory, let me know, I'll send you some A-1 sauce you can put on your foot to make it taste better!
Meghan McCain is the young man's Hilary Clinton.
I like Meghan McCain, the only one in her family with any balls and willing to speak her mind despite what her daddy says.
I know the Teapublicans and some Republicans consider her a RINO at best and a traitor at worst, but they never have been big on dissent. Good thing we don't have Siberian camps.
Ms. McCain is the one Republican in the spotlight that I like now.
The "wrong camera" issue was de-bunked, no need to slam her on something that wasn't her fault.
However, the words of the speech -- she agreed to it and has to take the brunt of the criticism which follows.
"Wasn't her fault?" Um, don't you think someone with Presidential aspirations should know that you might want to have someone watching the feed, or better yet, do a trial run to see how it looks BEFORE going live? Or does she push the button to launch the nukes and say "Ooopsie, I just wanted my secretary to get me a Diet Coke and pushed the wrong button [giggles].
We already have a President that has focused his studies on teleprompters and tv appearance, maybe next time we can elect someone with brains and sense.
I much prefer brains and sense to polish and posturing. The empty shirt that is our President has spent more money in less time than any man in the history of the world. What we have to show for it is, well, a big fat pile of debt and millions of permanently unemployed.
PaulF- Sorry, but that is an stupid argument. If people wants magic solutions, they're completely wrong. It took 30 years, maybe more, to destabilize this country, we cannot pretend solutions in 2 and without increasing expenses to fix the mess, then saving money. This is like having a hole in your roof and trying to save money by cancelling your newspaper subscription. You need to fix the hole first, which will require that you spend money, then you can look at your budget and see how you can save money. But we want magic solutions in flash time. What do you expect? The Federal Government to play the lotto to see if they get lucky? Let's use common sense and fix what's need to be fixed, and stop the finger pointing that so far has not moved the country anywhere.
Couldn't agree more ! Republicans messed the country up, Bush went to war without any evidence that there were wmd, THAT's what contributed in great part to the debt we have now!
justiceforall,
You are the first one I have seen noting that it took us 30 years to get where we are. This is under republican and democratic Presidents and congress's, not just the 8 years under Bush and the last 4 years under a democratic congress.
I would say it took about 12 years to get where we are now. Things were going pretty good until Phil Gramm pushed through the deregulation on banks and slipped an amendment to a bill that allowed even more deregulation. On top of that was the unchecked spike in oil prices that caused people to stop buying because a big portion of their budget was going for energy.
They won't allow links to be post but Google "Phil Gramm Deregulation and the Financial Panic" and see for yourself.
Michele Bachmann is an idiot. Like Sarah Palin, her method of operation is based on lies and exaggerations. By continuously playing to people's fears they both manage to keep their fan base in a constant state of outrage and thereby remain popular. The problem with this method, however, is that at some point they will overstep their boundaries and go too far. Then it will all come crashing in on their idiotic heads.
jrl-
Look, we can either spend all the time arguing and throwing things at each other or we can find the common ground to fix this mess. What difference does it make who started the hole, we're all in it, we either help each other to climb or we're going to keep on digging deeper. But it starts with us. If you make 30K a year, you cannot have a lifestyle of 100K. Cause sooner or later it will catch up with you. Bring ideas, let's discuss it and see how much we can make out of it. Pointing fingers only relieves your frustration for 5 minutes, until you read the next posting from someone who fail to realize that if this President fails, we all fail; and that if he succeeds, all of us will enjoy it.
justice4all, I agree, I am just as guilty of pointing fingers as the next poster, and I agree with the idea that if you earn 30K you can't live like you are making 100K. If this president fails and if this congress fails to create jobs in the next two years then we all will lose, so we need to work together to rebuild this nation, and we need to quit bickering with each other.
An important message lost on way too many people.
Megan McCain is way too cool to be a Repuglican. haha......man, she can ruffle some feathers. I can't imagine she goes over too well in those uptight, mentally constipated GOP circles.
Well the truth is she would be a nobody had it not been that her father is a senator and ran for president. She has this forum only to bash republicans all the while insisting she is one of them. I just can't figure out why on earth she doesn't switch parties and be done with it. She has the right to be a big mouth and personally bash others she doesn't agree with. However if she instead chose to be a grownup and just stick to the issues that would show some class. As it is now, she is classless.
I am not a fan of either Palin or Bachmann since both put me to sleep because they say the same things over and over again, but I do not like to make political disagreements an opportunity to make a slam on somebody personally.
The Tea Party will get stronger and stronger if enough mud is thrown at them.
BTW, Obama says the same things over and over again as well.
Megan may be a nobody if her father isn't known, but then again does "W" even get nominated without his Father's previous success? Not a chance in hell. Jeb maybe, but certainly not "W".
I'm a Democrat, so I come from a party where someone's always hammering someone else. That's what we do; we LIKE disparate viewpoints.
I can see why Ms. McCain would cause such consternation on the Republican side. Good God, someone speaking their mind, not marching in lockstep. The first thing folks like 'theboys' wants to do is kick her out of the party!
If Republicans ever want to reclaim the majority center you're going to have to accommodate some viewpoints that are a little more moderate than what you are used to! You know, that 'Big Tent' thing.
Tea partiers are sworn to prevent that from happening. BIG collision coming in your party!
She seems to be able to think for herself, think on her feet and articulate her thoughts well. These are qualities that will do her well in almost any field - commentator, politics, whatever.
Who is "she"?
I think that she is laying the framework for a presidential run at some point in the future. She will show case all of the interviews and clips as evidence that she is a rouge like her father, that she is willing to do what is best and not be partisan.
Rouge? what color?
Who is she?
Meghan McCain is the poor man's Cindy Sheehan. Just like Cindy, as long as she keeps bashing Republicans the libs will follow her like dogs in heat but the moment she criticizes a democrat she will disappear... just like Cindy Sheehan.
Cindy is still around of course (http://cindysheehanssoapbox.blogspot.com/). Here is a recent comment from her blog:
When such vitriol as that was directed at GW Bush it led off the evening news.
nresq is right. As the young Republicans start coming up in the ranks, a clash with the "angry white men" will invariably occur. Who will win? Youth always prevails.
"theboys
The Tea Party will get stronger and stronger if enough mud is thrown at them."
Here's hoping that the Tea Party gets so strong that they run their own party candidates and not as Republican Tea Party candidates.
I want to see the Tea Party on all ballots, in all states in 2012.
Give us voters a choice between the Republicans, the Democrats and the Tea Party.
Let the voters decide if we want to go forward (Democrats), go backwards (Republicans) or fall over backwards (Tea Party).
theboys: "The Tea Party will get stronger and stronger if enough mud is thrown at them."
......How does this make sense, especially if that mud is real and it sticks? I sincerely believe there are well intentioned people in the Tea Party, but my God, they also have some real wackos and have attracted quite a few fringe elements that does not help their image. If the Tea Party wants to advance, they need to do some housecleaning and assume a more moderate, realisitic stance on the issues. I'm not sure that they can do that, but supporting people like Palin, Bachmann and Christine Odonnell is not going to attract a lot of independents to their side.
Strong enough to sink into the mired depths they created ... and hopefully disappear. They are made from mud and to which they will return.
The Tea Party isn't a grass root movement like they claim, it is a corporate funded, Fox News organized, homophobic racist mob that are almost completely reactionary. I have yet to head any real ideas from them, unless you count "cut taxes", "throw the bums out" and "we want our country back" as actual ideas. BTW back from whom or what?
Ms McCain said it well....
If Senator McCain had run with somebody more like his own daughter on the Republican ticket in 2008 it would have been a much tougher contest!
yeah. just like her "poor man's" Alaskan "half term" governor and joke of a vice presidential candidate role model. They are both huge embarrassments to their party (an embarrassment itself) and the American political system! In it for themselves (especially Palin). Always have been. Always will be!
Is Megan McCain stupid? Or maybe starved for attention? She must be unaware of the large following and support that Ms.Bachmann enjoys! Of course, Ms. McCain is a privileged rich girl, and probably doesn't get what it means to be a "poor man's" anything! What an arrogant statement on her part! And what is she doing to serve her fellow man and her country? Verbal diarrhea counts for nothing! And, quite frankly, Ms. Bachmann is a leader within her party.
Are you kidding? Do you listen to anything she says? It isn't whether or not you agree with her it is that she is stupid! Just flat out factually wrong on the things she says. Sorry but she and anyone who listens to her are dopes.
You're not from MN are you?
She an embarrassment and laughing stock in her home state.
God Bless America - Michelle Bachmann is not a leader within her party. Speaker Boehner did not watch her response. Additionally, she is hot too bright. To state that our Founding Fathers did everything in their power to stop slavery is ridiculous.
M Bachman doesn't "lead" anybody. She is an empty head merely parroting the repug talking points. The question is; who is the stupidest? Palin, Bahman, or O'Donnell?? Tough, isn't it. I'm going with the "Dummy from Delaware"
God Bless America - is that what your mommy and daddy named you never the less I'm so glad you hide behind your god given names lest your neighbors will think you are a fool - Now for Michelle Bachmann she rails against government programs yet she and her family receive farm subsidies, as I recall her cut was $10,000 a year and she said it enables her to shop - GBA who gives you $10,000 a year to just shop.
Next this woman has five children have taken in 23 foster children if I recall the government pays a yearly subsidy for those children
Next read her - founded a school that wanted to teach creationism - members rebelled and she and other three board members where forced to resign.
Did I forget to mention she got her degree from Oral Roberts?
Need I go on?
God Bless America, are you kidding? Michelle Bachmann has the support of her district and that's about it. She's an embarrassment to the GOP, and Minnesota quite frankly.
Bachmann most certainly does not have a large following. She has a tiny lunatic fringe following, of which you are obviously a part.
No, not stupid, just able to think for herself, which most of you can't do.
God bless, that is such a lame argument.Every person has a responsibility to call out the nutbags, especially those that are in any position of making rules for others.Defending Bachman only makes you ignorant and part of the problem.Wake the fukk up......
Her dad is worthless, but I think she's right on with her comments. This comment coming from a democrat.
I wouldn't go so far as to label John McCain worthless, he's weak for sure.
Ms McCain, I think, speaks for her generation. The alta kakas need to get over themselves and accept that.
Those enamored with The Palin are no longer relevant on the national political stage.
jkatze - Well said. While I disagree with Senator McCain on many issues, he is not worthless. Additionally, he did a great job raising his daughter. Again, I don't agree with her very often, but she is bright, states her mind, and moreover, shows her dad a great deal of love and respect.
I liked the OLD John McCain, when he proudly called himself a 'Maverick'. Now, he apparently has dementia because he forgot what he was. The OLD McCain would have excoriated the NEW McCain. Sad.
I also liked the 'old' McCain, the Maverick with the Golden Fleece Awards. I don't know if he has dementia, it's possible he just swung 'right' strictly for political reasons.
However, I'm reasonably sure that BOTH the 'old' and 'new' McCains are proud of his daughter.
nresq - Actually read the life of the "Real McCain" graduated third from bottom of his class at the naval academy screwed up any place he could - by the way my husband was an ex air force member and said when you eject from an airplane chances are your arms are broken - look up "songbird" thirty tapes that McCain has blocked from releasing from the Viet Cong - not only that in the last election none of his fellow prisoners endorsed him id I forget to say his grandaddy was an Admiral as were his Daddy anyone else would have been drummed out of the corp
Need I go into the treatment of his first wife who was an ex-model that he stole away only to find she suffered a terrible accident - crippled the only people who offered her a job was Nancy Reagan - then found the heiress of beer and booze in Arizona - who by the way on the campaign trail called her a c u@@nt.
Nice guy this only a bitter old man who has nothing to offer, stood for nothing would sell his mom to get elected, put a nothing at his side to get the woman's vote, sorry McCain I am not stupid but you are
Mary: McCain wasn't always worthless, but he is now. Then again, I'm fairly sure he's senile now.
Chris, agreed she's right on, however i disagree its "coming from a democrat". I'd say "independent" is more apropo (and more applaudable IMHO).
Meghan McCain. Still wet behind the ears and now a seasoned political commentator? As John Wayne said- not hardly. Meghan- grow up and come back in about 10 years.
If by 'growing up' you mean become a bitter, old, selfish, cussing, hate-speech Tea Party nut -- I prefer her the way she is now.
Church and State - and Paul Ryan is not wet behind the ears? Coddled - Meghan McCain has probably seen more about back room politics that you ever have seen in your lifetime - save your garbage children with politicians grow up very fast - and I value what this young woman has to say - It's because you don't agree can't you say that instead of putting someone down?
You Republicans are good at that, shoot the messenger but don't listen to the message - nonsense I am probably older than you but my husbsand and I listen to the young people - we know there concerns - I have five grandchildren and one glorious great grandchild and if I live long enough I will listen to him
Go to the restaurants there are waiters and waitresses who have degrees who cannot get a job in their prospective fields - opem your mind and quit your rabble
Who cares what John Wayne would say? A draft-dodger who made his living pretending to be a war hero doesn't impress me.
Nothing to do with being a commentator. This is about calling out a nut job.
Sometimes it's good to get input from young people who haven't had years of practice "spinning" and perfecting that bland form of political speak that passes for truth in Washington.
Church, feel free to debate what she said – not her age. That's what we call an ad hominem and is generally frowned upon in intelligent discourse.
Hey didn't God say "if you let the blind lead the blind both will fall into the ditch"?. Somebody throw GOD BLESS AMERICA a rope so we can initiate a rescue from the bottom of the intellectual abyss! As for Bachmann, leave her there! She seems so happy in her ignorance.
But, does Bachman KNOW she is ignorant?
I suspect Miss Meghan is a lot like her Dad used to be before he tried to out- conservative the conservatives. I used to have a lot of respect for him. Now I've transferred that respect to his daughter. You go, Meghan. Wouldn't it be funny now if some of those Bachmann foster kids started speaking out about their nutcase mother!
The GOP cannot put up Paul since they have declined to back his fiscal platform (which is as much of a joke as the platform the GOP has put up...).... cut everyone but spare SS, Medicare, Veterans and don't forget those big tax cuts that got us here in the first place... I give this GOP about 6 months and the american public will see their lack of any interest in real reform... just guns, abortion and tax cuts and they are happy....
bachmann reminds me of the last cougar at the bar....desperate for attention any way she can get it....Megan is not only young and beautiful....she is one smart cookie...palin and bachmann are not even close to her league...and I am an independant so I know she appeals across the board
You are absolutely correct. I'm an independent that leans Democrat, and I have respect for this young lady even though I don't always agree with her. The Republican party would do well to pay attention to people like this no matter their age.
Years ago my (then) little girl asked me whether it was better to be pretty or smart. We talked about it and came to the conclusion that BOTH was a good answer.
Agreed. A very inteligent, strong, unique woman – good qualities that transcend partisan boundaries. Its unfortunate (sad really) that so many can't focus past the socio-politically irrelevant qualities such as age, family and appearance.
Yes shiloh, Bachmann is an embarrassment indeed. People like her and Palin are the reason I left the Republican Party.
LOL...I thought I was the only one. It's good to know another former Republican joined me in leaving that joke of a party. I really don't like too much that the Dems are offering, but it is a whole lot better than what the Republican party has become. Im not a registered Democrat, but atleast im not registered Republican anymore. I really didn't have a choice because the Repubs seem like they have had their brains baked in the sun for too long.
US will Win - I married a Republican - late in life first date a Republican Birthday party - not bad people - actually nice people - promised my soon to be husband not to discuss politics - need I say I am and was a Chicago Democrat - and I bit my tongue - but and I will say but when we moved to Virginia and got to know many of the young people there and went to a fund raiser when they talked about family values the same day they cut Social Services by 60% and I knew my lovely young friend who was an Air Force Medic lost her job - I guess I lost it
How dare you talk about family values to raise money and not care about families - so you see where I am coming from - because these are our families.
I was married for 27 years to a Repub., I am a life long registered Dem. In the end of my marriage, I finally could no longer put up with the ideas that drove him, in his lust for money and total disregard for less fortunate people. His favorite line was, F@#k the poor", and "I don't want the government to do anything for the poor, it's a waste of good money", and now, I am free at last! I look back at those wasted years of living with a heartless man, and wonder what I was thinking when I married him.
Good for you NOREPUB,
Welcome to reality!!
Barbara, How does a Air Force Medic lose their job?
CombatMedic, an airman, sailor, soldier, or marine loses his or her job when someone outs them as being gay.
I'm seeing a lot of former Republicans these days. I registered Republican when I turned 18, during the Reagan years, but I never actually found a Republican candidate I could vote for in good faith (this was around the time they were first becoming the party of the religious right). I finally left the party during the Clinton witch-hunt, and they've just kept looking stupider and stupider ever since. Obama 2012!!!
Family values only applies depending upon whose family is involved, it's not rocket science.
She will be alright. I've seen people in her condition cross a street without help.
I'll say it for you Keith O:
That woman is an idiot.
Actually Cold in Florida - global warming or global changing - Keith liked her she is a voice in the wilderness and I would hope - not that I want Republicans to succeed but we do need two parties - I like a lot about liberals and I like a lot about conservatives but we do need balance
Barbara,
I am not sure KO actually liked her. I just think he recognized that her illogical commentary provided comic material for his show.
But you're point about 'balance' is a good one. The thing is, we only have balance when both sides actually work for the good of the American People and are willing to negotiate solutions to our nation's problems.
There is no balance when only the Dems want to pass bills to aid the poor and the middle class. The Repugs only want to further enrich corporations and the wealthiest Americans. And idiots like Michelle Bachmann defend the giveaways to the rich with divisive rhetoric filled with lies and misinformation.
Yes, America needs two vital political parties. But we absolutely don't need complete fools like Bachmann, Palin, et al.
Diarrhea and the thought process for "Tea Party" stand seems identical
poopy pants dems.
I LOVE Meaghan McCain. In addition to being GORGEOUS she is VERY VERY smart and hey what about her as a replacement for Keith. What a GREAT candidate she would make....absolutely STUNNING. When she's on I listen!!!
I'm an independent and the chumps the Tea Party keeps latching onto just boggles my mind. And they want my support. *shakes head*
I call them (Palin and Bachmann) Dumb and Dumber. Yes, embarrassing indeed. And I'm conservative in every way! I should like everything about them but they both give me an allergic reaction. Probably both wonderful women, wives, mothers, etc. but they should stay away from politics.
spdidee
I call them (Palin and Bachmann) Dumb and Dumber.

As I posted elsewhere, we need more humor in the midst of this political quagmire, so I nominate this as the best humorous post in this thread. Okay wackos, start yelling at me, oh, and don't forget, anyone who is against the superfluous, truth twisting rantings of those who have hijacked the formerly responsible and honorable Republican Party are just radical left wing, socialistic, communistic, Marxist/Nazis. There is no middle ground, there are no moderates, no true independents who vote by reading and understanding the issues instead of the party line, that is all an urban myth, right Michael?
well said. only intellegant democrat around
leanderm,
Ironically enough, you can't even spell the word "intelligent", much less make statements that would suggest that you are.
Meghan said it so well! And where or where is Sarah now?! Flaring those nostrils somewhere I'm sure because she is not the center of the universe right now....can't wait to hear and see her and Michelle duke it out!!
bachmann/palin or palin/ bachmann in 2012, they can duke it out to see who is on top.
Cissy McCraw - I believe Sister Sarah is in hiding - new coming out Todd baby was visiting a pro in Wassilla - National Enquirer - didn't he say I don't know how the last child was conceived since we sleep in different bedrooms - Uhmm - how many of these can she survive? Ex- partners?
By the way am I dreaming or aren't people running for office supposed to produce health records, IRS filings, certificate of birth, college diplomas - where are Sister Sarahs? Did I miss something? I never saw them and now the stall of her e-mails?
She's preparing Vol. 2 of her series of essays, "I'm a Victim!" She wanted to use "My Struggle," but someone explained to her that the title was already used by that famous far left Progressive, Adolf Hitler....
I can think of a brazillian reasons to refudiate the Bauchman/Palin ticket.
I used Bush/Palin speak..I used strategery

....Somebody could really make something out of this, but I won't.
:)
... in bed?
Church and State person.... John Wayne was a pretend person in the movies. It wasn't real when you saw him in the movies, I don't think he was a real war hero or a real cowboy.
What?
I did a happy dance thinking about Bachmann running for President.
Between this damaged woman and her buddy palin, President Obama has 6 years to finish his work.
I really do not care for Meghan Mc Cain maybe she should find her self a boy Friend or buy her self a vibrator.
Way to keep it classy there, Bama.
Do you email your Mother with that keyboard?
Bama - It is fine to express your dislike of Meghan McCain, but leave out the rude and vulgar language.
On behalf of men everywhere, I apologize. Bama is obviously not a mental giant.
Buffaloes Roam - Well said. Thank you.
Think it is call freedom of speech. Just said what I felt like saying.I do believe ya have said worst about Palin.
Bama, if you can find an adult to proofread, you would not make quite such an ass of yourself. "Think it is call freedom of speech" is not a real reputation builder. I have said nothing about Ms. Palin, and as a matter of fact I like her. It is hard not to like her...and her daughter Bristol. Ms. McCain is talking about politics. You should address her comments on that level. If she chooses to talk about her genitals, your comment might be appropriate.
You have freedom of speech. That means you have freedom to be an ass. You have excercised both freedoms. Good for you.
"I do believe ya have said worst about Palin."
...."worst"? As in bratwurst? I do believe Bama is from one of those high achievement states, you know, the ones that push creationism over science.
...I think bama is really Joe the (dumber) Plumber
Thank ya
